Well, surprise him with the American forces after he lands. Especially American armor.

Sending more troops to Cape Town...

Lots of little strikes...none of them have worked so far...Houston making another long distance run I think might have screwed up with her. I really need to hold on to the turn for another hour to remember everything I forgot. I have a good handle on the flow for Japan, but not yet for the Allies.

Three squadrons of Catalinas have arrived in Singapore from Pearl...but now they are busy airlifting ABDA to Singapore which should see a full consolidation of troops.

Yes, take your time. Just don't freak out about the Japanese capabilities because you know what happens to them in the end.

Of course, you also know how to derail the Japanese plans somewhat. Just get your enemy to drop some rotten sushi off for Stalin . . .

POW and Repulse are still alive, Repulse is down to 44 flooding, all major and will now transition to pierside for three days before attempting to run the Straits. POW is halfway up...but the IJ is getting more established in their coverage of the straits.

I missed my opportunity of getting good hits in Java...tried to be too cute.

KB is going further afield hunting to be honest pretty worthless ships now. There is a slug of small craft at Malang, under fighter cover, but they can't entice any strikes.

It seems to me Java is either weaker in this mod, or simply because of the early attack hasn't had a chance to recover from disablements.

Other than not losing the big ships, this was another bright spot.

Its certainly very vulnerable to an attack so early in stock. My opponent landed there asap and there just isn't enough time to get the units recovered and into the positions if the Japanese player does that.

Losing Batavia in 41 is huge and changes everything in the DEI.

Pile units including air support and HQs into the base SW of his invasion at Kalidji. That is a tough nut to crack and it makes supplies.

I wonder if I will rue the day I sent two armored units to China? Bought out one Chinese division, and will be buying out another today (will fly them to Ledo).

China is up to 117K supply.

I think AV Wright is one of the few Allied AVs that can carry 4 PBYs ready to launch (I think you need to be in a base to do so). If you have them loaded, might be worth sending them on ahead to Canton to deal with that sub.

PS. - Maybe AV Curtiss too.

If he likes to send subs in to bases, have a minefield and an ASW TF ready.

I tried moving a squadron of 2 Cats to the AV but no joy. Maybe in stock. I vaguely remember something like...

I knew a guy named Rue who spent many years in China. Married and had children there.

50 degrees F this morning...getting to be bulb planting time.

Going to try and sneak the American Carriers closer for a sprint attack on Saipan on the following day...

Continue gathering the Thundering Herd on Eastern Luzon and below...a CAP trap down there too. Thundering Herd will have to refuel the CVs in about three days time. Need naval search down there...

I haven't bothered in a long time, but you might need to dock the ship and crane them aboard (although the ship has its own cranes) or the opposite - transfer them while the ship is undocked and in a TF. The ship screen will show if it is one of the two or three Allied AVs that can carry a few PBYs.

Allied AV/AVD ship types which have been provided with an aircraft capacity can embark Float Plane types (FP), not Patrol Aircraft types (PA).

Dec 12th 1941

Another good day for Japan as they continue to sink ships left right and center.

For some reason POW didn't disband into port before the air strikes and ate a torpedo from a Mavis...

Several large task forces in the Thundering Herd didn't either, and I lost an AS...

At Cagayan a nice skirmish...

Hong Kong and Ambon fall...Batavia holds, 1-2 attack.

I am fairly sure auto-disband feature happens at the end of the replay , after all the combat phases , at least in my tests it was like that.

Not the end of the world for POW, but it is bad...37 major flooding and the IJ have started bombing ports...

Got some big ships away from Singers...

Mauritius, a destroyer and a dm are at Medan badly damaged...

Otus was definitely another blunder on my part...

Beau shows us that the Iboats are in position...I thought I had a chance to beat them east.

Tomorrow I have to start shepherding Repulse up the Straights to, she can make 14 knots flank speed... and that will be dangerous.

Lex and E will head in, and try to stay 8 hexes away from the two threatening airbases...Japan might put in Betties and Nells down low, around 1 to 3K with bombs, we should be able to focus our fighters there and beat them off.

I wouldn't put it past Japan to have moved an Air HQ here and have some Kates looking for a good time.

I am sure Japan knows I am doing this...he read my previous AAR. I am sure he feels very confident in taking China.

I have already bought out two full Chinese Corps. 36th Division is already being air lifted to Ledo, probably 10 days to get the entire Division to Ledo. The 88th Division is marching to Lashio, and might get air lifted out, but probably not as other Divisions will be arriving to Tuyun and Paoshan for air lift.

I am will be pumping as much supply into China as I can...thru Ramree. With the loss of Hong Kong this turn, supply in China has dropped to 113K.
