And in the east Barbarossa is launched but I am for the moment the lucky person with the weather rolls as Battlevonwar gets rain in the northern part of the front.

I really like your defense here, btw. Taking notes and making some alterations in my own Soviet setup.

Oh noes :). Just kidding sure. This is the first time I try out the alot of corps build so I have been winging it.

What I have done differently from before is.

1. The first version of the Red airforce wil die anyway so I havent upgraded it at all. they are all 1939 stuff. Gogo I15 and whatever they are called . So far I spam bomb the finns. I dont keep them on the frontline so tired of them just dying .

2. I didint disband the bad mech corps until the 1st turn of the invasion. This meant I could build up a lot of inf corps and still I could build 10 armies on turn one and still have a 85% manpower. It is a compromise compared to before when I built 12-14 inf armies and landed on manpower in the high 60 low 70 range. Quite happy with that compromise will see how it works out.

Not sure why the Italian navy didnt move. Maybe Battlevonwar wants to get rid of the oilguzzlers. Anyway launch 2 more raids one miss and one score 9 hits including sinking one ship.

In the east my luck with the weather continues as there is heavy rain in temparate zone basically the whole southern front and part of the northern front. Almost hurts to see as these turns are so important.

I'm not doing any disbands at all anymore, after playing you decided this was a mistake. I really needed those extra mech corps in the south.

Fair enough, I just really like the feeling of knowing some serious reinforcement will come in after like 4 turns thats why I like to build those armies.

Well, I can imagine disbanding them gradually, maybe. They are pretty garbage. Going to experiment with that next time around.

France is really not garrisoned much a lvl 3 port could be taken for free. It is tempting but not sure if it would accomplish that much. Other option is to do the usual thing. Take portugal and possibly land in Africa end of 41.

In the east the Germans advance and Soviets coprs melting as usual .

Rokossovsky somehow got caught in a battle and killed. I still don´t really know the math on how important the leaders are but he will be missed.

I use my cavalry to run behind the lines to try and delay rail repair. Army group south will still get supplies from Rumania so not really sure if it is worth it.

June 20 1941

Despite the bad weather early in the war the Germans advance and kill off units. Soviet army down quite a bit in size. 2 more turns until the big reinforcement arrives.

And the British carrier fleet continue to hunt for the Italian navy now finding a destroyer on Sardinia.

There are no axis air in the Med only in Egypt so the Fleet can roam pretty much as it like.

In Finland the Finnish forces retreat in face of the Soviet bombing campaign. Got Soviet air up to 38% xp without losing much so that is a better start than I usually have with the Red Airforce.

Germany presses on. And even though I had luck with the weather in the beginning and a not superstrong German army (with several coprs in Africa) andmy attempts at trying to interrupt supplies a bit I am beginning to feel hard pressed.

August 29 1941

Strange again I am sure I toke several screenshots but maybe not. Action jumps to end of August.

The Germans are pushing hard. As can be seen their army is actually slightly smaller for the moment compared to July.

But I am taking enough losses so I am not building up very well either many units very weak. I will hold Leninggrad and Moscow until bad weather at least.

In the med I have invaded a port in Libya and one in Tunisia for free like 30 landingships for free. I will now send in units into Tunisia and take back Africa from Tunisia. I think by this time my navy have sunk all German ships but one there are 2 German subs and the Italian navy is quite battered as well so victory on the seas can basically be declared.

September 12 1941

Bad weather getting close. I still feel very vulnerable. I would say a Soviet army under 2000 is just not strong enough so I feel I am a bit in trouble.

October 10 1941

Some payback with the weather with the lucky start beginning of summer as the weatehr in Ovtober is a cold turn in the arctic.

So German advance continues and losses go up. This time I managed 2 counterattacks and threw the Germans over the river near Orel.

A German paradrop and the corps walked over 3 air units not so good . At least I closed the line behind it and there is some hope it might starve behind enemy lines.

Also I have been so focused on the Germans so I forgot about the Finns who have walked back over Finland and destroyed a couple of Corps and they now appear behind my main front at Leningrad. I scramble to find some weak units to put in their way. That was completely unnescessary and not very well played by me.

Also just fun to notice my units have reached 50% xp already in september that has never happened to me before. And there are some weak German units so maybe this time some kind of winteroffensive might be possible but I doubt it.

In the Med the liberation of Africa continues. I spot an empty port in Italy and invade. Might be useful someday.

The Royal Navy continues hunting down Italian ships where they can be found.

I forgot screenshot but in the East where I was counting on bad weather it was another cold turn and not in one zone but both of them so had to retreat some more. Funny how things even out over time .

December 5 1941

Forgot screenshots in November but finally bad weather came and things settled down.

Army strength going up again but many units low strength and low xp. Germany is a lot stronger now too so I am a bit scared of summer 42. Moscow and a whole lot more will be lost I would think. Some German corps look really weak as well but still really hard to find any worthwhile attacks and I feel I should just be careful and conserve strength. Time is supposed to be on my side .

On a side note I think maybe winter weather combat penalties are a bit harsh. There were quite alot of action going on during wintertime in the real war, something which feels really hard to replicate in game.

And a bit surprisingly in the end the British manage to take the whole of Africa in 41. The last Axis unit will starve in the Algerian mountains next turn. Otherwise Axis evacuation went well I only managed to catch an Italian corps and one HQ and one German division.

Invaded Corsica and with foothold in Italy things looks ok for the Western allies and next turn the US enters the war that is always nice.

January 2 1942

In the east I try to attack a little bit with very little success. Most action in the north where I try to push back the Finns and get them off the Murmansk railroad which interferes with lend lease.

In the Mediterranean i am given Sicily basically for free. Italy evacuated a port and I spent 40 landing ships to invade with 1 corps and 1 division. So thats cheap.
