Turn 96. Axis. May 7, 1943. The Pacific. The Caroline's. End of Turn.

1. Looks like the Caroline's are the next target for the USN/USMC in the Pacific.

Turn 96. Axis. May 7, 1943. China. End of Turn.

1. In the North with CCP in the IJA decides to push forward, destroy a Chinese corps and captures Yanku.
2. Elsewhere in China the IJA is pretty much static.

Turn 96. Axis. May 7, 1943. Burma/French Indo-China/Siam. End of Turn.

1. The bitter fighting between the IJA and CW forces in Burma continues.
2. The fighting by the IJA is more about keeping the CW occupied and focused on this theater versus any real expectation of additional gains by Japan.

Turn 96. Axis. May 7, 1943. Home Islands. End of Turn.

1. Japan's home defense forces continue to build and now I think look pretty impressive. Well, except for having no air and very little navy.

Builds/Research.
1. This turns entire budget for Japan went to reinforcements and a one or two upgrades.
2. No budget for additional research or new units was left.

Turn 98. Axis. June 6, 1943. Battle of the Atlantic. Murmansk Convoys.

1. U-boats sink 30 MPPs headed to Russia.
2. However, badly damaged U-35 (down to 2-steps) is prevented by an RN DD squadron from making safe heaven in Pestro.
3. Instead U-371 is sent there for reinforcement.
4. Hope remains for U-35 but realism dictates that that U-boat is likely done for.
5. U-377 maintains patrol on the Murmansk convoy line.

Turn 98. Axis. June 6, 1943. The Western Front. Start of Turn.

1. Lots of RN and USN activity in the Channel.
2. They even managed to knock 1-step off of the German garrison in Cherbourg.
3. Is all this a prelude to an allied landing?

5. Significant reinforcements moved to the Western Front.
6. Likely more to come too; especially Luftwaffe fighters.

USSR 52%
China 62%

Germany 111%

Turn 100. Axis. July 2, 1943. Report to OKH.

1. Noted and I assume this means that a unit must be on and not adjacent to a potential partisan hex to prevent partisans?
2. Same for partisan activity hexes too?

Turn 100. Axis. July 2, 1943. The Western Front. Start of Turn.

1. Unfortunately my instinct last turn concerning a possible landing in the West was true.
2. The allies made a major landing east of Brest.
3. Interestingly they also made a secondary landing in the Netherlands.

Turn 100. Axis. July 2, 1943. The Med. End of Turn.

1. I guess the "soft underbelly" was too tough of a gut for a '43 effort by the Western Allies?
2. Even so, keeping an eye on the situation in the Med.
