"Hang on and we finish the configuration of our unit" i got after startup and i just woke up. oh sorry! My unit\pc? Really? I chose to at least postpone their hijacking of my already fine PC for three days.

EDIT: Just doing one recovery point now for the system just in case Windows makes an assault on my PC like when trying to update Win 7 and i had to go and buy a new OS to replace my wrecked system. Yes, i eventually did one lazy mistake with that but it was Windows update that started it.
Considering to go back to Win 7 also, can´t stand these forced updates anymore that seems to be anything but system essential and must have updates, Microsoft, you go too far.

You can turn them off indefinitely if you want.

The first thing he talks about is suspending Windows 10 update for as long as you want.

Not sure going back to win 7 (best, stable, solid windows OS by far imo) is an option. More and more programmes will need Win 10 or correct me if I'm wrong.

Thanks for the video, Gilmer.

always best advice for gaming platforms is a fresh install, not a update imo, doesn't take that long, most time is spent backing up, so get a second hard drive and store all crap and stuff either on there or online,

then just keep fresh installing all the newer version of windows 10 on there, the main C drive and have steam and other backs up's elsewhere, sorted

you get the better deal, without the hassle imo

for a purely gaming platform, windows 10 has no equal

Seems to be for the best, the best to give a try.
Edit: I forgot, thanks for that Gilmer.

And for anyone else that wants this to be put to a minimum, i personally don´t even use Windows Defender for example so updates to that AV program is to me at least totally redundant\pointless.
The clip above in short tells you to postpone the updates there, do it for any time that seems to make no difference the amount of time it is, then go to network and internet settings, type network status in the search box and the top option click on it. Click on "change your network properties" there and then set the option "set as metered connection" there to ON.

That apparently is going to take care of that now, i hope.

There´s more to it so i type that in as well so any user is covered completely, i wanted to keep this short only.
Type "updates" in the search box, click on "updates\system settings"\"updates & security settings" one of them called that (I´m Swedish).
You´re then here:

Click "advanced options" there and set everything to OFF. Done

No worries. I came across that by accident, but it seems like a legitimate way to turn all updates off until you want them.

Only if it's the Pro version. Win10 updates on my laptop with the Home version has ruined my days many times. It destroys my graphics drivers and I have a black screen when updates from hell arrive. The worst part of this seeming to be a conspiracy, is that MicroSoft deletes ALL your restore saves before it gives your PC back to you, so if it ruins your system, too bad. Frigging amazing...

On my main PC which has Win10 Pro, I have to turn off updates immediately after a new install, otherwise the updates start right away and trashes my system. Timing is fouled up so when I move the cursor around, a pause happens every few seconds. It's a clipping, like in a video that clips but it happens all the time. I've had a computer wizard kid over here to try and figure out what's going on, he can't figure it out. The best thing is to disable the crap from the start. MicroSoft, man they have changed and not for the better. Ticks me off when choices are taken away and for no good reason. Deleting my restores,,, just plain wrong.

I upgraded my home version to pro for free through Win 10, was not a long time ago so perhaps it´s still possible. I could look up exactly if required how to do it but now i wanted to test a gif down below, i guess it can be like with a signature that it just appears after a new comment have been made so TEST(? It wont work, not with this gif now).

Edit: It did work, linking to it from another uploader than myself, source. Not the best to do and yeah, this one not made by me but from a site i believe it´s OK to "borrow" it from. Looks pretty good!

Yeah I tried that, but it's too late now. I have to pay for an upgrade. Good idea though, thanks!

Come over to Mac? If I could afford it, I might. However, I have so many programs that are IBM clone specific.
