Hi. If you want, I will publish it in the modding sector. It was a crash playing the last version from my mod. I have the error logs but I noted one big mistake from the game.

The mistake is, when you save a game in the middle of a battle, the game continues saving the campaign at this savegame overwritting your in battle savegame. I am not a expert but I would not be surprise if it was the problem from the crash.

Anyway the in battle savegames are a bit useless if it happpens, you can not repeat a battle if you do not like how it was completed.

Perhaps you made the save in the middle of a battle just as an option from leave and resume a battle. Not bad but the game should not overwrite your custom saves.

I have added the error logs and the savegames in a rar file, you can find it here. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Qo1zduTaiDQJUmb-SPavYhwdXWosYgUC/view?usp=sharing

About the savegames. 1Ginb2 is the name from the in battle file. Normandy German 202012051446 is the strategic file.

Now thinking. Perhaps I will try it. What happen if after to create a in battle savegame, I move the file away from the saves folder?

I'm not entirely sure what you mean - do you mean that if you save during a battle it then uses that name for the autosave(s) that happen after it? You can certainly work around that issue by renaming the save file in the save folder, you are of course correct that it should not do that - it should continue using the save name you give when you being the campaign.

Cheers

Pip

Perhaps it uses the name as you say but at the end it is not only the name, it overwrites the in battle savegame with the strategic data and the game crashes when it happens.

After some tryouts, my temporal solution while you fix this is, when you make a in battle save, go to windows with the windows or alt+tab keys and move away the savegame from the saves folder. If you do not make it, usually the game crashes after the battle and it looks as if it crashes because it can not overwrite the in battle savegame.

If you SAVE during a battle AND enter a new name for the save file the game continues to use the original saved game file when it continues after the battle. I.e. if you're playing "GRAND CAMPAIGN #####" and you save during battle and name the save file "my save", your game after the battle auto-saves using "GRAND CAMPAIGN #####"

If you LOAD a save file, in battle or not, that save file becomes the game file going forward. So in the above scenario, if you load "my save" before the battle is complete, the game will start auto-saving using "my save" after the battle. This is what you asked to do by loading a saved game.

Yes. When you load a save file from in battle in the middle of a battle, the game crashes when the battle finish because the game can not write the campaign data inside the in battle save.

If you are seeing a crash in this situation it is not because you loaded the game during battle and continued on with it. That should work fine. A game saved during a battle has all the campaign information in it, in addition to the extra battle state information, and continuing such a save isn't an issue most of the time. I will look at the info you've provided, but if you're seeing a crash it's being caused by something besides the fact that you've loaded a battle save and continued after the battle.
