Turn 18. Jul/Aug 1942. Allied #4. 3/2/21, 3:20 PM - [Allied]: wargamed through some risky scenarios for both the Western and Eastern Front. Risky scenarios were just too risky. 3/2/21, 3:22 PM - [Allied]: Will go with something (hopefully) more cautious. Will (attempt) to execute my plans tomorrow. A bit tired today to try to get through everything. There will be an opportunity for another tussle in the North Sea. 3/2/21, 3:23 PM - [Allied]: Also look at some aggressive actions in the Pacific. But decided against that as it would force me to commit the USN faster carrier force in Pearl. 3/2/21, 3:24 PM - [Allied]: Better to keep that force loaded and cocked to respond to the IJN. 3/2/21, 3:25 PM - [Axis]: Losing a third of Japanese convoys rocked Japanese naval command. An investigation occurred and for those unfortunate enough to be blamed for it, they mysteriously disappeared. 3/2/21, 3:27 PM - [Allied]: I'd be lying if I said I feel for you. Though, I do know how you feel. I have to admit it felt good to finally be on the giving end of such a pounding for once. 3/2/21, 3:28 PM - [Axis]: One has to remember that the USA has only been in the war for a few months still...haven't had time to build 3/2/21, 3:30 PM - [Allied]: I view my foray into the China Sea as equivalent to the Doolittle Raid. While the physiological effects on Japan's military "leaders" in both cases (real life and this game), the destruction in the latter is much more signficant. 3/2/21, 3:31 PM - [Allied]: Also, there's a tug among the JCS for allocation of forces with a number including General Marshall complaining that too many ground forces have been committed to the Pacific when they're sorely need in Europe. 3/2/21, 3:32 PM - [Allied]: Adm Earnest King though is very strong counter to General Marshall and lobbying for more resources to be allocated to fight Japan. 3/2/21, 3:33 PM - [Allied]: I'm still disappointed by the RN and RAF's performance in the East Med. 3/2/21, 3:34 PM - [Allied]: Talk about inquiries and the collapse of a government. 3/2/21, 3:34 PM - [Axis]: Dude! 3/2/21, 3:34 PM - [Axis]: You have to let that go! 3/2/21, 3:34 PM - [Axis]: 😆 3/2/21, 3:35 PM - [Allied]: Well, I think that cause the fall of Churchill's gov't. Not sure who'd be PM now. If Lord Halifax then the Western alliance is in danger. 3/2/21, 3:36 PM - [Axis]: Churchill might have saved his job with the early invasion of Europe 3/2/21, 3:37 PM - [Allied]: Yes, I think you're right but that was so anti-Churchill. That is the invasion of France. He wanted to do the side shows, Torch, Husky and even Greece. 3/2/21, 3:38 PM - [Allied]: Forgot who said it but I think it was one the US JCS generals who said that not 1 gd American would die for Great Britain in Greece. 3/2/21, 3:38 PM - [Allied]: I think might have been at the Casablanca conference. 3/2/21, 3:39 PM - [Allied]: I think you're right about Churchill still being PM. No way Lord Halifax would have ok a British invasion of France in 1942. He would likely have negotiated with the axis for an armistice. Or at least that's my take on it. 3/2/21, 3:41 PM - [Allied]: Got excited there for a moment wargaming through some scenarios when I thought you'd left Turk ungarrisoned. 3/2/21, 3:42 PM - [Allied]: But that all evaporated when I looked closes and saw you have a white print garrison there. 3/2/21, 3:42 PM - [Allied]: Dang your thoroughness! 3/2/21, 3:42 PM - [Axis]: I've been burned by not having something there in the past 3/2/21, 3:42 PM - [Allied]: A chance to take Turk would have warranted the launching of the USN faster carrier forces at Pearl. 3/2/21, 3:43 PM - [Allied]: You do know what they're looking for don't you? The USN fast carrier force? 3/2/21, 3:44 PM - [Axis]: I'm assuming the Japanese carriers... 3/2/21, 3:46 PM - [Allied]: I admit sinking Japanese carriers would be nice but there's something more I like to sink than their carriers. 3/2/21, 3:47 PM - [Axis]: Then I guess transports and amphibs 3/2/21, 3:48 PM - [Allied]: I like those too 3/2/21, 3:49 PM - [Allied]: Anyway, talk to you later ... with the exception of a possible tussle in the North Sea I except a boring allied impulse. Boring but hopefully fruitful that is. 3/2/21, 3:50 PM - [Axis]: Yep, cya 3/3/21, 2:44 PM - [Allied]: afternoon. 3/3/21, 2:44 PM - [Axis]: Howdy 3/3/21, 2:46 PM - [Allied]: Will get to my impulse in couple of minutes. Believe the only reaction you'll have is whether or not to search in the North Sea. But, I'm getting a bit ahead of myslef. 3/3/21, 3:03 PM - [Allied]: Turn 18. Jul/Aug 1942. Allied #4. CW - combine, USA - land, Free France - land, China - land, USSR - land. 3/3/21, 3:16 PM - [Allied]: RN Naval Moves: (1) Bay of Biscay & (2) North Sea. 3/3/21, 3:17 PM - [Allied]: You deleted this message 3/3/21, 3:17 PM - [Allied]: <Media omitted> 3/3/21, 3:19 PM - [Allied]: (1) Bay of Biscay.
