I have an observation from my DBB AI game. I turned off the Aussie HI early on because of fuel issues for my fleets. I have been shipping fuel from Capetown to Perth and LA to both Sydney and Brisbane but it is getting used nearly as fast as I get it there.

This game just ended Oct of '43. Since I have, of course, been needing to send fuel to locations across the South Pacific other than Australia I have at this time the following stores of fuel in major Aussie ports:
Sydney 107242
Melbourne 56522
Brisbane 91648
Townsville 29181
Perth 132920
Darwin 33615

According to what I have read in this thread, Australian aircraft production in this game should be pretty much nil since my HI on that continent was turned off very early on. However, the one airframe that matters, the Beaufort VIII, which started in production in October of '42 at 18 aircraft per month has actually averaged a production level of 19 aircraft per month over the 13 months it has been in production.

Sydney is awash in supply with something over 2 million tons on hand.

Does anyone have an idea as to why my game has proven an exception to the rule that turning off HI in Australia will kill aircraft production in that country?

It's not country specific - the produced HI goes in the global pool, and the aircraft factories pull from the pool, not any specific location.

So other aircraft production in the US might be feeling the effects of turning off Aussie HI?

EDIT: I did not turn off HI in India, so maybe that plus all the HI in North America has been enough to keep a/c production at full speed? I checked my other airframe production and there does not appear to be any that have suffered reduced production.

I wish that I could say the same for those who only receive "replacement" airframes. I especially seem to constantly be receiving the shaft when it comes to recon aircraft.

Well, where do the Aussies get the HI for their aircraft? Scotty beams the stuff to Australia? Except that he is busy in the Canadian Army so he can't do that.

Maybe the engines are arriving in the constant stream of supply convoys I have sailing from Capetown to Adelaide, along with the torpedoes for those rather useful bombers.

Yes, they also traveled in time during the regular season as well.
