My current campaign has some giant rats that have been a pain to hunt. they have absortion and burroing which makes my air-ground bombardments useless, so I had to tailor a big army with rpgs to kill them.

So I suggest, go for planets similar to the skull island, where the player has to hunt the big beasts, and maybe wins some loot for that.

Seems an easy addition to code for me at least.

I might be wrong, but I think killing edible Animals yields some food relative to the 2 commanders hunting skill rolls.
