Hey guys, got a problem with my cv's, cant get them to launch any of the plains at all. I've read in another post concerning the same exact problem and one of the possibilities could be that the carriers have used up all of their sorties & that is showing red, so i'm therefore thinking this is the problem? So , now the question is how do i get the cv's back in sea worthy fighting condition again?

Send them back to pearl and they will replenish. Assuming that they are near pearl. If not other larger bases will do the trick. Don't remember what the minimum port size needs to be....GP

I am sure that the answer is in the manual somewhere.

A decent sized AKE or AE can also replenish carriers. Depending how many and how much, it might take a couple of days to replenish the whole TF.

And a CV will never launch 'plains', only very special airplanes.

Well, if he can't get any aircraft to operate, the ships carpenters out of frustration will launch plains, hammers too. Like that submarine captain who asked for a can opener when the Mark 14 torpedoes were going thud instead of boom. If the weapons they give you don't operate you have to throw whatever you have to hand. Like that scene in Saving Private Ryan, I think it was, a guy's gun didn't go bang so he threw his helmet at the enemy.

Boss, da plane!

Okay, guys, have we busted his chops enough over one spelling gaffe?

A other reason it may happen, it happen to me on last turn and mess my plan, is bad weather. The carrier can't launch aircraft in big thunderstorm.

Without any screenshot, it’s hard to figure the reason. Among just a few of the reasons, there are :
- very bad weather
- all sorties used up (however, this should not impact CAP or search, as those are not offensive missions)
- damage on the carrier
- overcrowded carrier
- lack of targets for strike missions
...

Nice photo, Ian. What aircraft is that? By the dress of the deck crew it looks more modern than WW2. Prop planes may be considered obsolete but they did, and still do, have their role in certain situations.

I think I should return my very expensive new eyeglasses for a refund; I did not notice the toilet under the wing until I went to that link and then it popped. Talk about hidden in "plane" sight!

Its the "toilet bomb" toting A-1 from VA-25 about to take off CV41 in 1965.
