All are welcome, including 821Bobo, at any time. Certain turns I will have a delay on information. Other turns I may not.

I am pretty sure this game will be interesting since I know Bobo is a very capable player ;-) He has a ton more experience in WITE2 than I do since I really only jumped full fledged into WITE2 the last two months of the BETA. But I picked things up pretty fast so should be a very interesting game.

Here are the settings for the game;

FOG of War: On
Movement FOW: On
Automate AI air assist: Off, you are free to use it during your turn if you like
Enhanced Player TB control: On

For sure will have to watch....debating if I have time to even mess with WITE 2....my limited free time has been playing the RTS Steel Division 2 mostly for awhile now.

Thanks. Actually I have pretty limited experience with playing GC41 as Soviets.

Curious about your settings, do you choose to have Lock HQ Support on or off?

The setting for Germany of Locked HQ or unlocked never really has mattered to me since I can control the settings for the right effect from the start on turn 1.

With the enhanced theater box control, should we expect to see Rommel's advance on Moscow? I am waiting to read the AAR where all Axis Panzer divisions get pulled from Africa and Western Europe. Although, if you did that, would it just create more supply problems and not be worth it for that reason?

If you did that the Axis player would bleed VP's as the Western and N.African Fronts collapsed in record time I would suspect.

Yeah, but would that matter if you quickly capture Moscow + Leningrad, maybe get an extra big encirclement or two, and win the game that way?

It's a big "if" ....

Good luck with that strategy though. Do let us know how you get on with it 😉

I plan on leaving the forces in the TB as they are with minimal stealing of units. So no worries on that front.

Turn 1

Air Execution Phase

Just started doing my air moves about an hour and half ago which I just ran the Execution. Here are the air losses up to the conclusion of the "Air Execution Phase".

75 German Planes lost

2576 Soviet Planes lost (2502 on the ground)

As I do my ground moves I should be able to shoot down up to ~700 - 1000 more planes. I hope

**** Operational losses are killer in WITE2 :(

I always put Fighters with my bombers for Escort. I don't always have the ratio of Fighter to bomber I want but on the first turn just having fighters with the bombers make the difference. Here are the intercepts the Soviets did on my bombers in the next 3 posts.

1st Intercept in the North the Germans decimated the Soviets.

Pilot losses hurts more than the planes.

So 66% of the Axis air losses were operational.....ouch.

Did you send any bombers unescorted due to range restrictions of fighter escorts ?

Talking about pilots I had 15 captured and 10 killed just in German Air Execution phase. I hope none of these were famous in their previous life ;-)

Ya, operational losses are real ;-)

I sent some not escorted bombers that was less than 6 hexes from the Border. But even that is a crap shot at times I have noticed in my testing in Beta.

Not a singel bomber shot down by the ruskie fighters during the entire week...Was that luck or a normal result for you ?

Flying Escort I will normally not lose a bomber on the first turn. But has happened on occasion. I also turn off ground support at the end of Air Execution so that the German fighters can concentrate 100% on intercepting the Soviets Ground support.

Those bomber crews should do the lottery 😃

Were you flying two or three times in the week or was it more to account for the Ops losses ?

I flew only D1 missions for "all" bombing.
