Combination bug report and heads up to fellow players: if the game freezes in rail movement mode, try waiting several minutes for it to recover.

Twice I've had the game stop responding for a few minutes while in rail movement mode in the first few turns of the 1941 GC. Both times it recovered, though the second time it crashed when I tried to save after it recovered.

1. Accidentally selected OKL and moused elsewhere. Game froze the moment the mouse was over a rail line, when I would have seen movement points displayed on the map. After a few minutes it recovered and was fine.

2. Selected a stack of 3 divisions in Berlin, switched to rail transit mode, clicked to move them as far as they would go toward Romania. Game froze after clicking to move. After a couple minutes it recovered and the move was complete. I immediately tried to save; the game crashed (closed immediately) the moment I clicked the save button.

I'm playing on a high-end PC. Resource use was not excessive while the game was frozen.

Attached a dxdiag for you in case it's helpful. I haven't had any issues otherwise, and I can mitigate this by saving before doing rail movement. Thanks for the awesome game!

Can you check if you got a crash dump file name WarInTheEast2.exe.<number>.dmp in C:\Users\<your username>\AppData\Local\CrashDumps?

You can zip and attach one to the post here. Thanks!

Here you go!

I have two other WITE2 .dmp files from other crashes not related to this - see next post.

Two other, unrelated, crash dumps.

Thanks for the files! All 3 have quite different signatures, potentially pointing to interface bugs.

Are you hitting any keys or buttons while the rail movement is still in progress?

Here's the last save file before the crash.

In this case no, I deliberately didn't hit any keys or buttons after clicking to move the stack via rail until it had been frozen for 10 second or so. I don't recall for sure for the first one, but I believe I simply selected OKL then moused over some train tracks, and it froze before even showing the movement cost.

Oh, all three of the crashes happened after I'd had the game open for quite some time - multiple hours.

Hope this helps!

I've tried, but can't recreate an issue on my system. Perhaps with the crash dumps Pavel will be able to figure out what might be causing the issue.

Please try out the 1.00.02 public beta when it comes out (probably tomorrow) and see if you still have the problem. If you do, see if you can find a more repeatable situation and post the save. Thanks.
