Since in this new incarnation of WitE, Soviet motorized divisions are somewhat incongruously styled "mechanized divisions", those of you that want them to sport the historically correct name and the appropriate symbol can follow these quick and dirty rules: 1) Open the editor and click on LOAD GENERIC DATA 2) Select the TOE(OB) file as the one to be saved/modified (check the box) 3) Click on the TOE(OB) tab above. 4) Click on FIND: and insert "Mechanized Division" (w/o quotes, of course) as a search string. 5) Select "41 Mechanized Division" from the units' list. 6) Click on CHANGE SUFFIX and insert "Motorized Division". 7) Click on TYPE and select "Motorized Infantry" from the list. 8) Click on SAVE GENERIC DATA That's it! I tested some 1941 scenarios with this "mod" and everything worked just fine. I also tried the Grand Campaign scenario and also in this case everything went fine. Destroyed Motorized Divisions were replaced by Rifle Divisions and, by mid '42, they completely disappeared (along with Tank Divisions) from the Soviet OOB, save for the Far East, as it should be. I also tried to start a PBeM, and, also in this case, everything seems to work fine. Please notice that only the starting (i.e. Soviet) player needs to have the modified data file. Unfortunately, it doesn't seems to work in multiplayer mode, although I'm not sure this is a mod issue per se.
