Here is the first official update to my Bulge 2000 scenario from TOAW II, still included in TOAW IV 22 years later. I am the original designer for this scenario and have finally gotten back to playing TOAW and finishing my massive scenario. When I first created this scenario I had trouble beta testing the scenario for balance as it would take many hours per side to run the AI vs AI play of this massive scenario. Helicopter movement back then would take several minutes per helicopter unit, now only a second or two. Plus increases in CPU speed have allowed me to extensively test this updated scenario multiple times over hundreds of hours.

I have set up both sides in continuous lines and revamped when and where reinforcements come in for both sides. I opted to start hostilities on turn 1 rather than wait and have them start on turns 2 or 3. There are no more instant victories, play will continue for the full 60 turns or more. I've achieved better play balance especially for the air war so now the USSR has air superiority for when it launches it's airborne operations early and the USA has it when it launches it's airborne operations later in the game. Added a few more events that should have been added before. Since USA forces are vastly outnumbered early on I set them up with about 10% extra equipment, fortified 100% and with 150% supply making them as ready as can be for the USSR onslaught.

This is a massive hypothetical scenario like the Battle of the Bulge with some very complex events so be sure to read all of the player's notes to ensure you know what to expect from certain events. Chemical weapons most likely will be used by both sides as well as each side having several possible times of using nuclear weapons including strategic ICBM units. The Programmed Opponent for both sides will use both chemical weapons and nuclear weapons if and when released. There are cities on both sides with supply depots whose capture will cause a side to temporarily have reduced supply capacity. I have also embraced all of the new rules in TOAW IV as well as variable initiative and recommend they be used as I have suggested in the preferences. Enjoy! Sorry for the long wait but as they say better late than never!

Here is a YouTube video I made detailing the changes made. You can clearly see the before and after setups to see the extensive changes made there. Enjoy the video and the new updated scenario!
