If I set the air directives myself and rotate air squadrons into and out of the air army (Western front air command, Leningrad air command etc) how often do I have to press the ai air button in the air turn, and do I have to also press it in the ground phase if I do the air transport myself?

Thanks. Still getting to grips with the air war but I better do it fast as it is in August 3rd in my game and I am not finding the ai rotating of units to and from the reserve to be good enough.

All help appreciated.

I just pressed rotate air units on West air command, Reserve air command and South West Air command but by the time I reached Leningrad air command no rotate air units in and out fo the command was offered, so do I have to spread the rotation over a number of moves so that air units rotate in and out of a command every second turn if that it possible, or do I only do it AI air assist has not done it properly?

every time you press that button your airgroups redeploy to get a fit to your orders and priorities - so they build up their air miles.

best advice is to do all your orders, then press it.

the routine doesn't know to hold back air groups as you are going to make further changes
