I know what triggers the kamikaze availability, but shouldn't I get some of these way before that?

A few of those would come in handy to lead an amphib assault onto the beach

Was the fat bloke with the bad shorts, pretending (poorly) to be a Pacific Islander, in Land of the Giants on the TV in later years?

Further to the above, I checked and it's not him, but the actor I was thinking of is Kurt Kasznar.

Back towards topic, Kaszner served in the Pacific as a US Army cinematographer, and he filmed landings on New Guinea and in the Philippines, and the signing of the Japanese surrender aboard the USS Missouri. He was one of the first Army photographers to film the aftermath of the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

LOTG needs a reboot.

All that show was about was the main guy - I think his name was McGyver - would use a safety pin as a grappling hook to try and get around. I think he would always have to try three times before it caught. Meanwhile a house cat was trying to sniff them out.

Incorrect. McGyver was Richard Dean Anderson. The show was "Land of the Giants."

Don Matheson ... Mark Wilson
Stefan Arngrim ... Barry Lockridge
Don Marshall ... Dan Erickson
Deanna Lund ... Valerie Scott
Heather Young ... Betty Hamilton
Kurt Kasznar ... Alexander B. Fitzhugh

Heather Young had an abdominal parasite during the second season so filming her had to not show that. Either that, or she just was not in that episode.

Some TV monsters (ok, men in rubber suits) were recycled from show to show. Irwin Allen, creator of Lost in Space, Land of the Giants, and other TV shows, was known for that.

OK, now that we have completely gone off topic......

I have never been on an Iowa - certain bucket list thingy.

I have recently had a craving to watch Hogan's Heroes and things like Space 1999. This getting old thing is messing with me.

Great Escape also came up on Amazon. Might be time to roll into the sack and give in.

I think that's the movie on Svengoolie this week.

This is not a rubber suit. It really is me.
