When playing as Japan, the US lose both the Enterprise and the Lexington when the AI attacks the IJN carrier force on their arrival turn at PH. To prevent this, you may want to change the entry date in the script to if_Date=12/21/1941. It plays out better because the Japanese TF has left to head back home by then.

Commodore Bob Wesley and Captain Kirk would never fall for this trap. Just saying. Live long and prosper.

Maybe that is a random even put in where the AI tries the Pearl Harbor Gambit?

Game setting for AI are: Experience and Excellent and Random.(v.01)
Second Attack off PH by IJN TF, use both OP so no movement.
Move two subs next to TF in fleet mode
Then on the Allied turn, the Allies try to attack with the two CVs and the Carrier interdiction decimates the Allied TF.

I modified the script as mentioned above so it doesn't happen for me any longer. With that said, it happened with 4 restarts before I changed the events script. Experience and Excellent may make the AI extremely aggressive. I find at Historical settings the AI plays more conservatively and doesn't sacrifice it's TFs.

Turn 1. Dec. 7, 1941 For me this happens 100% of the time(edit last night-I just tried it again now). Most of the times both CVs get sunk. In this case, the Allies got lucky. The Allies movement triggers a Carrier Interdiction. The Allied CVs tried to attack is my assumption.

Here is the vid:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PIr080nc4v4&ab_channel=WW2Boardgamer0100

Event script date is 1/1/1939. When I change it to 12/21/1941 this is no longer an issue. The IJN task force has left the area and the AI doesn't pursue it.

Edit: I noticed if it tries to attack the sub, usually no damage. If it goes after the CVs both get sunk. The only time the Allied CVs don't come out is when it heavy rain. Could it be the location of the sub since it's in shallow water? Maybe it's a unique problem I have.
I've just tried it 5 times in a row and three times it went after the sub and heavy rain the other two times stopped any CV action. I will continue to test to see if I can capture it on video for you.

OK. This is what happen last night. Four times in a row with me. However, both the Enterprise and Lexington were sunk. You will see in the video that the carrier interdicts and sink the Lexington. This is turn 1 most of the times for me.

Alvaro if this is an isolated problem on my end, just leave it. I will simply change the script on my end which is not too difficult to do. I brought it to your attention because I don't think it should be happening but no one else is having this issue it seems. If when you test it, it doesn't happen with you, then the issue may be on my end.

Don't think it's just on your end. I tried it with your settings and got the same result you did, on my first attempt.

I changed it. I just hope it got into the patch. I already emailed Matrix to start the process late in the afternoon. Hopefully they didn't see it yet.
