Turn 4. Mar/Apr 1940. Med. EOT(fd). East Med.

(1) Though the CW player hasn't put supply CP/TRS in the East Med (or the West Med too), he push an Egyptian Terr without supply across the Egyptian border into Libya and manages to capture both Bardia and Tobruk.
(2) The Terr now has a straight shot to Benghazi unless the Italian player counters.

Turn 4. Mar/Apr 1940. The Middle East. Allied #2. Baghdad.

(1) The war between the USSR and Iraq is over very quickly.
(2) Baghdad falls on the surprise impulse, which also sees the elimination of the Iraqi army (2-5 cav corps).

Turn 4. Mar/Apr 1940. The Middle East. Allied #2.

The Soviet/French player will use the remainder of this turn to consolidate his gains in Iraq, which are:
(1) Capture Mosul oil
(2) Capture the rail line north between Baghdad and the Mosul oil
(3) Capture the rail line south between Baghdad to Persia
(4) Transport the Iraqi to the USSR
(5) Start railing troops out and to the Eastern Front.

Turn 4. Mar/Apr 1940. The Western Front. War Logs.

(1) Neither the weather or the dice were a friend of the German or Italian players this turn.

Turn 4. Mar/Apr 1940. The Western Front. Axis #1. Ground Strike #1.

(1) The French airforce successfully turns back an attempted 50% ground strike against a frontline high-value French 3-stack (HQ-I, mot corps & AT div).

Turn 4. Mar/Apr 1940. The Western Front. Axis #1. Ground Strike #2.

(1) A second, unopposed German ground strike against a less valuable French frontline 3-stack is mildly successful.
(2) Overall, the German player was disappointed with the results of his two ground strikes.

Turn 4. Mar/Apr 1940. The Western Front. Axis #1. Lille.

(1) The German player's frustration continues a French F/B gets through to provide defensive ground support to his attack on Lille.
(2) This significantly lowers his assault odds from 13.5 to 7.5 which lowers his PWIN from 100% to 87.5%, decreases his chance of fully remaining organized from 70.4%to 18% and increases his chance of completely flipping from 6.8% to 50%.
(3) All this from his air-to-air failure at +1/-1 advantage, which was the same advantage he had for his ground strike with a Stuka that was forced to abort.
(4) The final cherry on top was his land combat roll of an 8, which while he managed to still take Lille cost him two attackers and saw the remaining attackers flipped including von Bock HQ-I. All this during the first impulse of the turn.

Turn 4. Mar/Apr 1940. The Western Front. Allied #2. EOT.

(1) The BEF through a combination of embark/debark retreats to Western and Southwest France.
(2) For now, Gort's HQ-I appears to be holding the line in north central France but that isn't expected to last long. That is, don't be surprised to see Gort moved west.

Turn 4. Mar/Apr 1940. The Western Front. Axis #3. Land Combat. Marseilles, France.

(1) With the threat of 2 French BBs in Marseilles moving out to the 3-box of the West Med and providing 4 additional (shore bombardment) factors to the defense of Marseilles the German and Italian players decide it's time to got for the city.
(2) The weather's fine and the Euro-axis have a 70.4% of capturing it.
(3) They fail by 1! The only upside is that they didn't lose any units. The downside is that all attackers were flipped and now the Euro-axis in the south is shut down for the remainder of the turn.

Turn 4. Mar/Apr 1940. The Western Front. Allied #5. CW Strat.

(1) The CW continues to press their strategic bombing raids but comes up short this time against Berlin.
(2) I think if they had hit it might have pushed the German player, if not over, close to the edge.

Turn 4. Mar/Apr 1940. The Western Front. Axis #11. Ground Strike. Paris.

1. With Germany almost assured of cutting the oil pipeline to Paris any oil burning units flipped (e.g., HQ-Is) will remain flipped.
2. The three ground strikes, each with a 10% chance per unit of flipping, miss everything.

Turn 4. Mar/Apr 1940. The Western Front. Axis #11. Land Combat.

1. The German player decides it's time to take a little risk this late in the turn with a 44% blitz.
2. And, he again makes a subpar roll, while the Japanese player continues to get excellent land combat rolls.

Turn 4. Mar/Apr 1940. The Western Front. Allied #13. CW Port Strike Rostock.

1. The CW player gets an 80% chance of damaging a KM CL but misses.
2. He's heard to mutter, "can't win them all in the air, but I sure would like to ..."
