What exactly do road repair do? Do the assist in city repairs like depots and ports? What is their impact?

How much speed impact on city repairs (ports, rail depots, etc) does each engineer battalion add?

I'm not at all sure they should even be in the game. They should be building and repairing roads.

1 - they act as auto repair SUs for your rail net work, see 21.6.1

2 - they add their constuction values to the building of such structures, for fort building see 20.2.4, the other exact values are not provided
