Is there a game that allows you to play the coach of an NFL Team without actually playing the game? (like in the Madden series)

I'm talking about a game that allows you to buy/sell/evaluate players, check their stats, build your playbook etc. - and then watch simulated matches. What the classic "Football Manager" series does for soccer, basically.

You have this:

https://www.sportsmogul.com/footballmogul.html

and these others (plus some more on steam):

https://store.steampowered.com/app/1281170/Pro_Strategy_Football_2021/
https://store.steampowered.com/app/547900/Front_Office_Football_Eight/

They're all spreadsheet sims much like Football Manager, Front Office and the Mogul are quite good.

This is the update to PSF2021. If you buy it, make sure to go to the mods page and get the goodies. Excellent management game.

FM 2022 pre-order is now available. I purchase it every year. While I'm also very interested about learning rules about American Football nothing can match with FM worldwide database. Management games all about planning against AI don't know much about AI in these games.

I'm a great fan of Action Pc games, mostly baseball and golf.

Although I agree ActionPC and Second and Ten are good football games, they are more season replay games where I believe the original poster was looking for something more along the lines of a career management/franchise sim. Regardless both definitely worth owning if you like football.

I like all the wolverinestudios games. Except golf. Haven't tried it. But NFL, NCAA football and basketball, and NBA. Like any set of games, they have their quirks, but I like them all. I like to set up fictional leagues or play NCAA football or basketball starting as a low level college and work my way up.
