I am sorry for this Alvaro but this game has really taken me back to the 70s and a friendship formed over chits on a map. SO MY question is for the people who have played these two WWII strategic games which one would you recommend. Especially interested in:

1 Easier game rules to digest.

2 How much boo keeping involved in the game and ease of this.

3 Solitaire suitability.

Thank you,

Brad

Not sure, if Alvaro likes to host such discussion in his WPP forum, but I want to reply to your questions:

1. Easier rules
AWAW has the simpler rule set and is easier to digest.
2. Bookkeeping efforts
AWAW has less bookkeeping and is easier to handle.
3. Solitaire
AWAW is more manageable in solitaire.

All answers are based on own experience with the boardgames 3R and A3R (predecessors of AWAW), WIF 2nd and WIF 5th edition. I played them starting in the second half of the 80's.

More relevant should be the comparison between AWAW and its computer versions versus Matrix WIF. MWIF does an excellent job in teaching you the rules via rule book, tutorials, videos, introductory scenarios and so on. Bookkeeping efforts are almost zero. The solitaire experience is awesome. So, if you really prefer to play these monster games in solitaire, I recommend MWIF over AWAW.

Thanks Angeldust. You are right of course I should delete this thread but thanks to matrix forums over heavy handed rules I can not. Apologies
