When does the Guadalcanal scenario (004) end? According to the description, it should end on Feb 7, 1943. I am now in early March 43 against the PC and the scenario does not end. It is little more than hauling supplies from base to base now.

Thanks!

I think I found the answer to my own question - the Editor says 240 turns. That's into April 43.

Yep,

It was a mistake in the scenario text file.
You can also see the correct end date at the bottom of the preferences screen.

As a good exercise for new players to learn how the game is set up:

They can go into the scenario folder and find that text file for the Guadalcanal scenario
(Scen004.txt) and change it like I have done below.

The text files are outside the database so they can be edited without a database change.

Just another great thing about the game.
It allows players an easy way to modify the Scenario notes and add their own custom art if they want to.

There is another way the game can fool you - the reinforcement queue. Playing the Marianas scenario I thought I had lots of time to pull off my invasions of Guam, Tinian and Saipan because the reinforcement queue showed units arriving several months later. So then right when my landing craft were one hex away from Saipan, the game ended! My mistake was landing first at Pagan to give me an air base to shield my landings against strikes from the Bonins (Iwo Jima, etc.). The time it cost me was the difference in scoring the VPs needed to win the scenario.

Thanks for the replies.
You're right, I'm probably not going to need the British Pacific Fleet HQ arriving in October 44 in the Guadalcanal scenario!
