I read on forum that it is a good idea to motorise Security units in June 1941, Indeed it is!

It employs around 1300 trucks to motorise an infantry division, yet around only a third as many for the Security divisions. This is a huge bonus for slicing up the Russian defences into pockets on turn 1 of the invasion. They are just as effective as Panzer divisions in this regard on turn 1...

I can't imagine that security units were used in this manner. I can't imagine the Germans had much need for ever motorising any security division.

You might wish to consider prohibiting the motorisation of security units to avoid this cheese (or at least prohibit them until the end of 1942, in case the player wishes to use them as cheap mobile reserves for plugging gaps in the line later in the game).

Frankly I don't understand the reason this feature exists in the game at all. From all the reading I've done about WW2 I can't recall a single case where a foot division was motorized on short notice. In fact I've read about strategists at the time saying it couldn't be done, because you can't put the horse wagons and horse-drawn heavy equipment on trucks, and the soldiers would be unable to supply themselves or fight effectively at the destination.

In most PvP games it is banned. And AI cheats anyway. But I agree with K62.

Yes, probably, but in any case that would not prevent their motorization at the beginning of the campaign, in June 1941, "before" these units are necessary in that anti-partisan function. Isn't it better to prevent the motorization of these units... just in case someone thinks of doing it?

It may not be very historical to motorize infantry divisions ... but to the Germans in 1941, to motorize security divisions I am sure they would find it completely absurd and irrational.
