I have some SP-AAA w/ 20mm guns on them (German, '39). They should be 2x20mm guns with excellent rangefinders and firecontrols. I assumed that in an emergency, sending the SP-AAA to a cncealed position can result in an effective infantry-meat-grinder. But they refuse to do a good job (firing stationary). Single MGs (from Pz-35) seem todo a better job! (same distance firing to same unit from a saved game.) How can this be fixed? I mean, should I tweak the OOB assigning them better RF? better FC? bigger warhead size? bigger he-kill number? I do not know where to begin, really. Any help, comment or idea will be appreciated.

Aside from bumping it up, I want to add that the 20mm on Recon wheeled vehicles is no more better than the MG. How is that? Any idea?

My guess is that 20mm guns shoot WAY fewer bullets per time than MG's do. And that the game puts a higher premium on ROF than calibre when it comes to infantry casualties. It's not a vulcan cannon or anything. Tomo

Sinner I addressed this issue over on the OOB forum .. yes the autocannons were grossly underrated ... I send in recomended HE kill values that are somewhat higher .. you have a couple of factors in play .. most 20mm have a slightly lower cyclic rate of fire than most machine guns 150 rpm-700 rpm depending on model and country involved and most have a much smaller available ammo supply 10-20 round magazines, maybe 50 round belts depending again on model and country ..however they do have a high explosive warhead in most cases ..not much explosive mind you .. maybe .15 oz maybe .20 oz something in that range, a couple of grams maybe as much as 5 grams .. but enough to make fragments and make them a warhead 2 instead of the regular Mg's warhead 1 ..that means you will get more suppression for the same HE kill in a 20mm than in a rifle caliber or even a 50 cal MG ..also accuracy tends to be higher.. as is Fire control ratings in partciular on the german scout cars it appears that they have been rated as a single shot, maybe a 3 shot burst and have been a HE Kill 6.. since my research shows a 5-6 shot burst from the 10 or 20 round mag in scout cars from the 20mmL55 german cannon they have been provisionally upped to 11 HE kill for the playtesting step in the Tiger Team OOB .. the 20mm auto cannons world wide came is such a large variation of bullet weight , muzzel velocity ect. that it is hard to generalize ... dedicated vehicle mounted AA guns would typically be crewed with dedicated loaders so that a resonablely high rate of fire could be maintained .. but 20mm is a much larger shell than a standard MG round so don't expect thousands of rounds on a vehicle ...
