It's too bad people still have that negative image associated with WW2ol. Eventually they will lose it once more players start to try out the game, this combination package deal should make a difference.
If it's improved substantially, it probably will help. I've already ordered HTTR, so if I give it another try, at least I won't have to DL 250+ megs of patches. :D
You guys have to remeber, this game has been around for 2 years. If it was so bad at release, and practically unplayable, do you think it would stay afloat for 2 years? More importantly, do you think anyone would be playing it?
I dunno man. There were a lot of folks playing it a year after release and that was my last memory of it. The social bonds that develop through squad affiliation is a strong tie to the game that kept me around a long time. [Edit] I guess I'm saying a lot of folks were playing it, and had been playing it for a year when I left, and to me anyway, it was bad then. [End edit]
It's quite apparent how far this game has come, and how far it is going. If you still have those negative opinions about the game, try it out and see for yourself. The learning curve is steep, but eventually you will see why it has been around so long.
I may just well give it a try in light of the fact that it will already be loaded on the HTTR CD when it arrives. I may be surprised. If I am, I'll be the first to admit it. [Edited as noted above]
