Anyone played Far Cry or the demo.

The graphics are very nice !

But you need a top system...

It runs only good on 800x600 with
my 1,4 ghz + ATI 8500 !

review,demo + screenshots :

It looks wonderful, but even the pitched gameplay and clever AI can't pull me out of my Call of Duty depression. I may get it sometime later this year, but right now the only FPS I'm holding out for is a mod: http://www.pop.rtcwfiles.com/ .

They plan to include morale, fatigue, and maybe suppression. IMO, it says quite a bit about that portion of the industry when it takes a mod team to add concepts like that in this day and age.

yes, one of the few that can stand international !

but the publishers had/have some problems:

1. the police searched their firm because of not
properly licenced software.

2. the game is on the index in germany already hahaha..

i agree. but it seems to be only for multiplayer.

i don´t play shooters in multiplay... only SP.

while i love PBM games of strategy ( esp. SPWAW of course ).

judging from the demo i would rate far cry on the 2nd place
after MOHAA, which is still better than COD. but i won´t buy
the far cry game, seems my comp is a bit to weak for it - while
COD + MOH run fine. COD on a good 3rd place

Just sold my copy on, after finishing the SP game.

Easily the best graphics to date if you have the machine to handle them. And to be fair, it still looks great even on "medium" for everything which is what I was running most of the time (with a decent GPU you can pump the texture and water quality right up with no ill effects, though).

Gameplay is superb, although the plot is a bit cheesy - hence I have no real desire to play it through again. Unfortunately, multiplayer at the moment is very, very, average (poor netcode, and nothing in the gameplay we havn't seen twenty times before). I suspect some excellent mods will be along in time, though.

Bought it.

Played it.

Will be trading it in at EB to finance something else (Sacred maybe).

Yes, it gets top marks for graphics, but to be perfectly honest, I'm having much more fun playing Rainbow 6: Athena Sword right now.

EB= Electronics Boutique. A chain store that allows you to trade in used games and DVD movies, depending on what they need, for a discount on other purchases.

Speaking of games; Has anyone played Desert Rats vs. Afrika Korps?

I tested the demo and it looks nice and fairly OK for being a RTS. (although range of combat is naturally shot to h!ll in order to make it reasonably easy to overview)
