Status: offline 		Winter '41, 4000 pts, meeting engagement, Jamminji's Germans vs my Russians, snow on the ground but a beautiful clear day. NO REINFORCEMENTS!

So far it has been motorbike madness as recon forces smack into each other... SS mechanised units and enemy armor has been spotted. German air attacks on my armor have already taken place as has a glorious peoples paradrop into the enemy rear...

It's on...

Status: offline 		Command German Forces: End of turn 2 - The recon cycles have done their job splendidly. T34s KV-2 spotted and air sections have inflicted light damage. MCs pushing at the lines.

Note to tank commanders... I hope those 7.5cms come in the spring, these 5cm are troubling. They did not take out a t34 after 10+ shots! I am sure the Russians inside are happy to be alive even with their heads pounding.

Status: offline 		we shoot down a fascist plane but another gets through to make a bombing run on a T34. We shoot up some SS troops and their HTs and nail at least 1 pz elsewhere...

Our paratroops and backfield infiltrators seek out targets but there's nobody here...

german mc units seem much better than russkie ones! our cavalry will cut them to ribbons if we can get close enough... arty falling all around

The loss of our air unit is problematic as they seem to be the only thing able to affect the russion armor. Russian tanks are now moving into view with impunity as our tanks rounds bounce to the ground. The infantry fights on, but are being pushed hard by the relentless rumble of the t34-m41s.

The one high point is the Cossack Calvary is having a hard time in the southern sector but I am sure that will change once the spotted KV-2 moves into position.

We will fight on as this is a do or die objective. The fate of the war could hinge on this battle.

Status: offline 		The Russian bear rolls gently forward... Despite the range power of the high vis fighting appears to be close up and personal...

in the south our glorious cavalry have encounter stiffer resistance than was at first though, recon have been backed up with mechanised infantry and many a horse lays in the snow now...

make a mental note pt1 - dropping conscripts out of planes is NOT a good idea they're very hard to rally and often begin 'retreating' towards the enemy...

The battle is fully engaged now. The far Northern front had some luck with 2 t34s burning, but the northern VHs are still under Russian control.

Central VHs have been taken back, for now, but more russian armor is relentlessly moving on the position. After several hits by German tanks an MC squad tried to assault a russian t34, they died with honor! These tanks are tough.

The southern sector is still problematic, and the armor has not even arrived!

Status: offline 		mental note no. 2 - Cavalry and KV2s don't go well together

We're losing T34s at an alarming rate, we are mounting an operation to retake the VH cluster in the centre. Commisars send fresh units to the front

As a no reinfoircement game all holes must be plugged with what we've got and we've got conscripts. Most of my backfield paradrop units have yet to engage the enemy but we're closing in...

The fronts are stagnant for now. The luck that we had with the tanks is no more. Many shells lay at the tracks of the Russian T34s. I don't know how we are going to take on the KVs that recon reports are advancing. The arty is raining down harder then ever now. Thankfully only a few cassulties. A squad of MCs tried valiently to assault a supposidly routed flamethrowing tank in the northern sector. That squad will be remembered! Even though they did not get close enough to throw any ordanence. We still own the center but the northern sector is in Russian hands. The southern sector is still in limbo

Status: offline 		our force is in chaos after what could by my worst ever pbem turn. every tank that moved got blown to bitz. O rhad it's gun shot out. My cavalry in the south have been decimated... every assault failed.

any more turns like that and we're lost

The southern sector seems to be more secure. But where did the KV-2 go? I know my air section had spotted it before going down in flames.

The center sector is fully in Geman hands at the moment, and can see the KV-s to the north. Nothing is solidified yet.

The Northern sector will get medal for their valor! They were in dire need and rallied back to not only push back a flamer throwing tank with infantry support but also were able to burn a T-35 and another tank. unfortunalty they are way to close to those KVs. Good thing for the forest!

Status: offline 		man this game has gone badly for me very quickly! Cohesion has been pretty much lost and all we can really do now is try to hurt the germans as much as possible. If ever a game needed reinforcing it would be this one but we have a no reinforcements policy!

It looks as though the northern sctor will be the last to handed over to the us, but not without a fight. A tank crew in the north has re-established radio communication after leaving their tank, and are now pressing ahead. Now if only the crews of the immobilized units can fix their rides. The high ground around the northern VHs are very dificult to approach without multiple tank shots raining down. That accompanied with the never ending arty has my men very weary.

The Central Sector is pushing through the trees and may finally start to help press the northern VHs. The Russian KVs had better watch their rears.

The southern sector has felt the presence of the KV-2... ouch. And with the remnent of the calvary for protection it may be a thorn for some time. and again the arty rains down on the southern troops.

Note: re-deploying rear guards ASAP. An ammo truck was caught and destroyed, along with a flak gun. This can not become a trend!

Northern sector is still in enemy hands and it looks as though this is where the Russians will make there stand. A t34 and 2 KV2s are on the VHs with another KV is coming down from the north. A 5th KV is in the center but has LOS to the Northern VHs.

The center is mine!

The Southern section is begining to weaken. One KV finally burns and another is immobilized. I hope that no more ar one the way.

My infiltrators found their 120 park and did some damage, but it cost them when they were pushed back by the russian quick support units. At least there were no 120s raining down this turn.

Status: offline 		my decimated force is trying to hurt the enemy where best they can, unfortunately this amounted only to a halftrack and a kubelwagen.

We still have some operational KV2s and a T34 has unimmobilised itself this turn and gone stalking german armor.

the fight isn't over but victory is a distant dream...

This is a long battle... I hope that I have enough ammo

The northern VHs are within my reach, but at what cost? I finnaly took out the t34 sitting on the VH but there are still 2 KVs. 2 attempts by infantry and MC failed to dislodge the KV and now they are sitting ducks. The KV in the north was spotted and shot at but again only slight damage was done.

The center and southern are still holding and may be able to advance.

Our infiltrators are doing good work in the enemy rear, taking out 2 or 3 GAVs(?). I am sure he feels the pain back there! One squad lost, but the others are moving silently toward their objective.

I got word from the field that the Russian commander has offered his surrender. I will accept this victory. It was not an easy fight and I am glad to be finished without the cassulties I anticipated.


Hellcat... Good game! I would be happy to play you anytime!
I looked at you forces after the battle. Man you had alot of people in my rear!...lol

Status: offline 		Jamminji good game my friend! I look forward to another so let me know ok? What can I say? I'm crap lol. I learned a good few lessons here. Like don't let the cav get ahead of it's support units! I think but I'm not sure, that I took an extra turn doing recon when I should have slowed up for the fight.

I did have a lot of guys still in the backfield but on foot it was al gonna be over before they got to anywhere where they could have been useful!

Interesting playing a no reinforcements game also.
