Before I buy this fantastic piece of software.... Can I install it on two machines? I travel regularly for work and would like to put it on my Laptop for my regular PBEM's. But does that mean I have to get a second copy to put on my home desktop??

Enquiring minds want to know!!

That is a grey area of the law. It is definitely a violation, but no one in his sane mind would expect you to pay twice just to be able to play on both computers. You are, after all, not depriving Matrix of its legitimate sales, since both computers have only one potential long-term user who would play the game.

Thanks for the answer.... I work for a software company also, so I know the ethical issues here!

My question though is do I have to register my copy for it to work? I assume that this would be so as this is the copy protection(?). If so, once registered that key can not be used again(?). This therefore prevents me from reinstalling it on the original or new machine?

I think your question might be relating to something like the license key file that some games like Out Of The Park Baseball uses, which "physically" requires a downloaded key file for each computer. For OOTP Baseball, a single purchage gives you permission to install on two machines.

I just purchased and installed WITP and it only uses a serial number system, the serial number being emailed to you when you purchase the game. I haven't tried it but I see no reason why it couldn't be installed on more than one machine. Of course, to be an honest person, and support Matrix Games and 2X3 you shouldn't let someone else have it. But for your own home and business laptop machines, I'm sure that would be fine.

I play UV on my home PC and another at work on lunch breaks, its the only way i can do one PBEM turn a day. You just use the CD as a Key disk. What is illegal about that, only one person can use the game at once.
If you get the digital download or the WITP CD will i be able to do this?

Also what happens when you change machines, upgrade,or have to reload everything?

I ve been using my UV disk for years over several machines what happens with a digital download?

I need answers so i can BUY IT ASAP!!!!
