According to the email which I received from UPS, my copy of MCLV was shipped on 12/28 and was scheduled for delivery today. However, their tracking system says that my package hasn't left California yet. Has anyone else had this problem with UPS? I chose two day air delivery when I ordered MCLV. Even giving them the 'two business day' benefit of the doubt, it still seems strange that my package should still be languishing in California. Oh well. Thanks for listening. Eric Maietta

I'll know more tomorrow but UPS track says my tracking number and reference number are invalid. Whatever that means.......... ;-) I don't think I was meant to have the LV Mega Campaign. ;-)

I ordered MCLV and a coffee cup on 8/22. Still haven't heard anything yet. Should I be worried?

HI Eric, I am in the same boat as you, except that I am waiting on 2 separate pkgs as the Watchtower disk could not be added to my LV order. That still baffles me but...... The tracking info for one says "in transit" with no details provided and the other just says "Billing info received". All in all, quite unhappy with this whole situation, but will carry on waiting. Hope we get our disks soon - take care - Joe

Here is the latest info from UPS as of 5:24 PM EST: "PACKAGE PROGRESS
Date Time Location Activity
Dec 28, 2001 10:20 P.M. OAKLAND HUB, CA, US ARRIVAL SCAN
9:03 P.M. CONCORD-CONCORD, CA, US ORIGIN SCAN
8:37 P.M. US BILLING INFORMATION RECEIVED
Tracking results provided by UPS: Jan 2, 2002 5:22 P.M. Eastern Time (USA" When I order Watchtower, I will definitely pass on the extra cost of 'two day air' if this is any indication of how UPS handles this shipping category. I would much rather put the extra cash towards another Matrix purchase. Eric Maietta

Received my CD and Coffee Cup today. But I'm working this week and won't be able to look at the game until the first of next week.

Can I suggest that any shipping probs that are caused by say UPS you take to UPS. Ring them and ask to speak to a manager and really complain to them about this. Or ask for their complaints dept. If they dont hear the complaints they cant see that they are causing customer agro. Posting the complaints here really isnt going to get UPS to improve their service. Also I would suggest that shipping companies like FedEx and UPS have had a great increase in items to ship since the ANTHRAX in the Postal Service.

Just letting Matrix know what is going on. Besides, I think Matrix is the UPS customer.

Just check UPS tracking again - apparently my order is in the correct state now so the system is working.

It might be helpful to remember that 1) UPS does not work on weekends without an added fee - and weekends are not included when they say "two-day," and 2) there was a big holiday, and many companies took a 4-day weekend. When UPS says "days," they mean their business days, not our days.

Hi Guys EVERYTHING is shipped. UPS / FedEx is trying to catch up with the volume of items currently in their system. They are updating their tracking records as they go. So just give them a little more time. I won't be surprise if someone gets the package before the tracking record is updated.

No problems here to report, only good news. I ordered two copies of LV separately, one for me and one for buddy of mine. The first arrived on 1-31 (fed ex) and the other today (UPS). The shipping for me worked without any problems.

I have two orders out there. One is MCLV and the other is MCWT and Fortress Europe. I never received an e-mail from UPS/FedX. According to the Matrix Store my order is complete. Should I be concerned or is everything still slowly working? Thanks!

well, I got my notice over the last weekend in Dec from UPS. Am slated for delivery on Jan. 9th. I assume I accidentally chose "Pony Express, Second-Line" for delivery options ;-)

Well, I sent an email to UPS, and here is their reply: "Please include the following line in all replies.
Email Reference Number: UT20020102_0000008120
Dear Eric Maietta: Thank you for your inquiry. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience
caused by this matter. We would like to begin the tracer process
to further investigate the status of your package. If you have
all of the information listed below, we will be happy to process
the tracer on your behalf. If you do not have the information,
please have your shipper contact UPS to initiate the tracer. -Contact name, business name, address, fax and telephone number
with area code of the shipper
-Contact name, business name, address and telephone number with
area code of the receiver
-Weight of the package
-Value of the package
-Detailed description of package contents (size, brand, color,
model number, etc.)
-All shipment reference information (invoice #, purchase order
#, package ID #, etc.) Thank you for using UPS Internet Services. James >
Seeing as I have none of the sender info they want, where do I send an email to get it, or to ask Matrix to initiate a tracer on the package? Thanks! Eric Maietta

Sorry about the first post guys (which I deleted) I am assuming all will either know what I refer too, or well you missed it. But I get sooooo irritated with guys that possess no indication of possessing anything that remotely looks like patience. Any that are true wargamers will remember the good ole days of wargaming, when if a product arrived in the stated "year" we were happy. All the ranting rambling and discussion of "when will my cd arrive" demonstrates an entirely incredible amount of impatience. I reeeeeally dont think anyone complaining of shipping delays reeeeally could play any of the old board style wargames. I love playing Longest Day for instance, 5'x5' of pure indulgence. 87 turns long, and 1 hour turns per person "if you are lucky". Takes me a full day just to get the game set up to play. I would play it even if it took me all day to play a complete game turn. All the talk about paying for "express shipping". Still comes down to excessive "I want it yesterday" thinking. Come on guys. Accept that it will get to you. I can see being concerned if it never arrives. But waiting an extra week doesnt quailify as a need to panic. For the record. I am expecting to order Combat Leader. I also plan on having a US resident ship it to me (cool way to kill them costs). And I reeeeally dont intend to spend aaaaany interest on "when will it get here". I wont even be checking on it till its a month or more over due.

Patience is a virtue, 'tis true. Acceptance of poor service is tantamount to accepting it in the rear. And that is the way things are going with the concept of 'service' in the USA these days. And I have no beef with accepting shipping times as they are slated. My issue (and others have this same issue) is the ridiculous service record that UPS has. I don't know if you've had poor service from them. I've had terrible service from them. And that is just that. If a company promises a certain level of service, it needs to fulfill that promise. Otherwise it sucks. It's called professionalism, and it's on the decline here in the USA. Has been for a LONG time. But I don't have the power to decide who Matrix or any other company ships with, and that's too bad.

Les: Thank you! Now, I recall the days when we were always told wait 4-6 or 6-8 weeks for delivery for anything, and any business that still does is probably losing customers because some people might believe delivery is that pathetic. Although we live in a microwave world, I don't think it stems half as much from how long it takes as opposed to these postal delivery places that are claiming two-day delivery. Corporate works pretty well from what I've seen, but never for delivery to individuals. The "earliest" I ever got any two-day delivery was in three days and the usual minimum is 5 days, so it is a pretty pathetic lie. I've had some deliveries through normal ground arrive in three days too. I'm starting to think more and more that two-day is a waste, but then I see some of these daunting regular time delivery estimates like two weeks and better and I'm confused. Why is that they don't predict either the regular or the supposed speedy deliveries correctly? David mentioned Fedex earlier. The thing I hate about Fedex, though I don't have a huge amount of experience with them, is that if I'm not home, which is about 90% of the time postal services deliver, they will leave a note instead of just leaving it on my doorstep from the start, so that I have to sign that card to tell them to leave it on the doorstep. I must say, that as silly as it is to always get it delayed a day like that, it's better than the UPS method, where "if" they don't feel comfortable leaving it on the doorstep I have to wait till the truck comes in and drive to the national HQ about 5 miles away for pickup and do it that evening elsewise I'll have to go through the same routine the next day. Thankfully UPS isn't too shy about leaving it on my doorstep and I haven't run into a case yet where the package didn't remain on the doorstep until I picked it up.

I must of course confess to not knowing all the ins and outs of why Matrix even requires UPS Fedex or any firm of that sort. I have heard comments to the affect I believe, that Matrix needs to account for just where the "item" is, and that these services (and I dont feel comfortable calling them "services" to be sure) allow for tracking (which also seems to be a questionable concept if a lot of the posts are to be believed additionally). I would state though, that just days before christmas (it was the same week eh), I sent three items (one was just a letter) through the mail. And the two packages (was a couple of cds in both cases) arrived BEFORE the 25th. One was admittedly local (but that doesnt mean anything like we all know), but one went to the southern US from Canada.
And I sent them ordinary mail. Seems to be that ordinary mail no longer deserves the nasty invectives heaped upon it what with all the comments being hurled at the "faster" options of priority mail. So naturally, I dont have much cause to see UPS or Fedex in any sort of positive way.
