Status: offline 		I successfully downloaded and installed the 1.20 patch.
Loaded my pre-patch save game, called up a TF info screen
and exited it again, which had a rather high probability of
causing a CTD before the patch.
Unfortunately, it still does (crashes every timne).
When I rename the sound folder these CTDs don't happen
(with or without patch).
On the main menu screen it says version 1.20 and some files
in the sound folder are rather new (the youngest one has a
mod time of July 26th) so I guess the patch succeeded.

My System:
P4 2GHz (Dell Dimension 8200)
Win XP prof.
Creative SB Live! Value (latest creative driver)

I'd be glad if someone could help me with this problem.

Status: offline 		I've tried a few more times and I have to correct myself.
Clicking on the exit button does not cause a CTD every time,
in fact twice in a row it didn't.
But this time I had a CTD during turn resolution (Some bombers
of mine attacking Bataan ground forces). When I clicked on
"done" in order to skip the animation, the game crashed.

Also, I can confirm Jim's observation that the sound is still
garbled.

I exited my current game, started scenario 15 (Allied computer, no historical 1st turn).
While the scenario was loading and the progress bar about a fifth red, I got a CTD.
Started the game again, could load the scenario this time, clicked around some of
the TFs and bases => CTD

tried reinstalling and it doesn't help

Ran into two other problems while reinstalling:

1. I tried to uninstall the game but it seems the uninstaller only
uninstalls itself. The uninstall wizard finished rather quickly and
told me that the uninstall process had finished. But I still had
the start menu entries and the witp folder looked untouched
except that the uninstall start menu item was gone.
I tried the windows software uninstall thingy and couldn't find
witp there anymore.
So what I did was a reinstall of the game.
When I started it afterwards the main menu said version 1.0

2. Applied the patch. First try I got a page fault immediately after
I started the Patch .exe. Unfortunately I have not saved the windows
post mortem debug information of this crash.
Started the Patch process again and it worked flawlessly this time.
Checked the windows software uninstall dialog and it listed witp version 1.00
Started witp and main menu sais version 1.20
Sound problems and CTDs still there
