Hi Guys and Gals.
Firstly a big Thankyou to Matrix for emailing DRiver and sorting out my CD delivery.

Owning a older PC I now find I have time on my hands whilst the turn processes. I'm playing SC 2 as Allies v the ai. I have had between 5 and 10 min waits for the turn to kick off, usually the first thing I see is the first nights Sub attack when I wander back to the PC.

So here goes, starting around 9am on Sunday when I decided reading the manual was boring and I jumped into the game.My Girlfriend was arriving later so I knew that limited time, however I managed all these things in one day and did 15! turns before collapsing into bed.

1) Eat a banana, gives you the energy for those later turns in the evening
2) Make a cup of coffee, as above
3) Actually have breakfast, yknow Bacon Eggs Toast etc, Coffee and a Banana didn't seem to be enough!
4) Do the washing up
5) Phone the Girlfriend and tell her you won't be seeing her today, this didn't work
6) Have a quick shower
7) Get dressed, comfortable clothes recommended here.
8) Brush teeth
9) Shave badly
10) Put bits of tissue on your face here and there!
11) Invent a fictitous biography for your best pilot
12) Decide to sack Percival and Macarthur "I will return" Me "Not from an Arctic Weatherstation hehe"
13) Answer a call from your mother, tell her you are doing the diy jobs you promised to do and at the moment your really busy painting right now and will call her back later.
14) Dry the washing up from earlier and put it away.
15) Read text message from girlfriend, it says she will be coming round in the evening
16) Reply to above text. Do Not pretend you are some else and you are dead, this will not work!
17) Check the TV guide, both The Sands of Iwo Jima and The Thin Red Line have been on recently, so its worth seeing if somethings on to get you in the mood.
18) Pop over the road to the Newsagents and pick up the Sunday papers.
19) Time for another coffee
20) Water the houseplants, then plan to neglect them.
21) Hmm snack time, luckily you may have some Pringles/Doritos around
22) After you first US Sub sinks something, think about having a cigarette in celebration, Yay Go Seahorse! the cigarette can wait.
23) Tidy the lounge, put last nights pizzabox and empty beer cans in the bin
24) Decide to pinch enough paper from work on Monday to print out the manual
25) Nearly lunchtime, check the fridge.
26) Gather up dirty clothes and put them in the washing machine.
27) Throw all your baking trays in the air at once and listen to them hit the floor, sounds like a bombardment mission don't you think!
28) Have look at that old school atlas for a bit and put it back none the wiser
29) Lunchtime at last! , ought to be healthy I guess, I'll have a salad, ham, tomato, coleslaw, cheese, and ciabatta, yum yum. wash it down with some fresh Orange juice
30) Promise yourself Never to invent a biography for your best pilot until the wars over! GRR
31) Time for another coffee, I should go decaff here, or I will be walking up the wall like a gecko, but don't have any so caffine it must be.
32) Eww too much coffee, time for the toilet, ahh thats better.
33) Stare at georgeous woman walking down the street, Cor!
34) Answer phone, its the girlfriend!! how does she do that, I mean does she have "He's looking at another woman radar?" She's coming round at about 7 ish. Ok loads of time, oh Damn she will want food.
35) Have a cigarette
36) Empty washing machine and hang clothes out to dry properly
37) Change sheets and Duvet on the bed.
38) Zap around the place with the Vacum cleaner
39) Take out the Binbags
40) Decide what to cook for the girlfriend
41) Check fridge again, Ahh thank Samsung its full of goodies
42) Run around room with Tshirt over your head cheering when your Vilderbeests KO CA Chokai with 7! yes thats right 7 torpedoes.
43) Time for a shower and wear some clean clothes
44) She's on the way, better open a bottle of wine, ching ching
45) Oh the Doorbell, she's here
46) Ah lovely Steak with Pepper sauce, Fries and Mushrooms, I'm so glad she is a carnivore!

She: "The place is soo tidy, you have been really busy, I thought you would be playing on that computer all day"

Me: "Computer games, no dear not today, more wine darling"

47)....................................

The first thing you should do however is to stop smoking...Good thing that you have a girlfriend. Even wargamers need a balanced life (and diet....)

Good for you. My Girlfreind has started asking if I am going to play the game. It seems I get more done. I have all animations off, due to pre-patch issues, and walk away from the turn resolution. It takes 30 mins for ti to run. SO I do laundry, Fix shelves, clean rooms, change oil in truck, watch some show on TV with her. Plan dinner, cook dinner and generally do all teh Honey-do's I have. And she never says a word about my sitting at teh PC every 30-45 mins for an hour planning a turn, checking this or that and then doing more work. I just wonder why I keep lining things off the list but it doesn't get any shorter?

UncleBuck, I wish I could be like you and drop my masochistic fascination with watching the turn execute. Then I could get stuff done, too.

It was really easy Von Moltke,

If I didn't turn off the combat animations and the sound I got CTD's. So I lay exactly like Nimitz, or I at least believe that to be the case. I only get teh reports I recive from my commanderrs

So, what you are saying is that WitP will actually improve your, eating habits, you life style and your love life! NOW that's an endorsement!

Well if that's the case I want my money back because it hasn't done anything for me!

It has given me more gameplay time than 90% of the games I've bought over the years, though.

Cheers Guys, Its seems like my work/life/gaming/girlfriend balance is pretty good right now, I know that things will change soonish when she moves in, I guess my gaming time will be a lot more limited.

The Gf plays a bit too, she likes Civ and has played most versions and even won the game at deity level now and then!! she used to play Ceasar3 and the Sims too.

Titan - sorry to hear that. I know how it feels for sure. Worst two weeks of my life but i'm better than I was 2 weeks ago which is a positive.

Jorm - thanks for the words.

In all honesty though it was nothing to do with WiTP just damn awful coincidental timing!

Monkey - brilliant message
