I'm just starting out playing the game and loving it!

But I messed around a lot with the preferences and don't see a way to restore the game to its defaults. Is there a way of doing this short of re-installing?

Go into the MatrixGames/SPWaW folder and then the SAVE folder. Delete the steel.prf file. The game will generate a new one, and your preferences will be reset. This also works sometimes if the game is acting goofy/glitching/etc. It often clears it up.

Useful trick, better than uninstall/reinstall for sure! Although it's probably better still to make your changes incremental, so you know what you've changed and why?
