Hm, 2.2 million or so...no worries about resources, still bringing in large quantities.
My Chinese and Kwantung Area Ports are regularly yielding a lot of resources and I've turned of a lot of yards and industries.
A sizeable amount of industry is able to run on 'local' oil and resources in India and China as well. So I don't think I will ever run out of
anything, even though I may run low by the end of 45.

Rather quiet still, guess Andy wants to clean up in Malaya. Wonder whether he will
move against Singapore soon. I'm lifting the Air and Naval HQs out. No need for them there anymore.

A few more days and we receive a big LCU in Rangoon. Going to move it to Indo China as a reserve force.
Easy to move it to PI/Formosa/Okinawa/Japan from there.

I've sent the Shokakau and Katsuragi to a major port to undergo their mid/late 44 upgrades.
The Zuikakau is down to 13 sys damage. The Mutsu is almost ready to rejoin the fleet, 5 sys after her last
upgrade. Still got 5-6 damaged cruisers and 10 destroyers undergoing repairs. Will be a few months before the
fleet is 100% battleworthy.

It's difficult to not use the Combined Fleet, but 1945 will be long and difficult. Really need a fleet in being,
and I got a lot of plans for it.

Got 100k supplies in Karachi - will move it to Burma and try to get a convoy through to the PI via Batavia.
Finally getting some new base force units and aviation regiments. Will leave them all in the Home Islands. So many
large bases there with minimal air support. Me thinks the major bases should have fixed base forces with 250+ AS at this stage
of the war.

The air lift of the 13th Air HQ from Singapore is complete. It's now just north of Saigon with a range of 5 hexes.
The Naval HQ is next, will march it to Hong Kong. Singapore stays at 1006 AP. Do you think I should leave all the units there
for Andy to hammer? As soon as he closes it there will be no coming back...

Re Singapore - if you can afford to loose the units leave them there - make Andy pay for it. As soon as Andy gets it operational those b-29s will be fully effective from a size 7 A/F.

RE Oil - getting tankers through to Japan will be risky - how about sending some oil to India when the route past Borneo is closed (IIRC India is self sufficient in Resources). The HI pts produced there will benefit Home Is production right upto the last days, even after strategic bombing and blockade crippleheavy industry at home.

Yes, I think I can afford it: Fighting behind a river and 9 forts in a malaria free base gives
lots of advantages. Also got plenty supply and high morale. There's only 1 full division, the rest are
smaller units - but lots of them. Difficult to bomb them all.

Moving some oil to India could be a good idea! 75 oil in India and another 50 in Rangoon. Not much for
such a heavy industry and resource base.

Got some 220k crude going to Japan right now, so I'll continue to move this way until Andy closes the water ways
completely. Got lots of tankers to spare.

They're not great. If they do hit they are devastating BUT there seems to be some hard-code associated with the Ohkas whereby only 10% or so of any unit equipped with them ever launches at once... It may vary a bit but with several hundred sorties run to test weapons assigned to the Ohka slot I never got much more than a 10% daily sortie rate.

Conversely this may work in your favour as small numbers of Bettys are probably more likely to get a few leakers than a 300 Betty raid.

Much as I expected, think I read about your test results.
Perhaps I could divide the Daitai into 3 sub units: this should make each unit launch a few ac.
Can try them out far away from enemy fighters at first.

I'm busy scrounging aviation regiments for my massive size 9 air bases in Burma, Indo China, China, PI and Formosa.
Would be really kewl to launch 600+ ac strikes against the enemy hoards.

It's FUBAR to fight a sitzkrieg for years, my offensive mindset is ill suited for it...not much blitzkrieg left for me to wage
Have to prepare for a glorious endgame though. Andy will once more feel the wrath of the Imperial Legions!

The 13.11 is my birthday, and my asw units scored several good hits to celebrate!
Sub nr 101 was sunk and it was with glee that I noticed that the Argonaut is among them...

In addition the Mutsu was fixed 4 sys points of damage in Shanghai, a record
She will rejoin the battlefleet shortly.

The first Ohka armed Betty unit also arrived together with 3x48ac Daitai's of Zekes.

Pauk-San and his cloned relatives also arrived in Tokyo to perform a most sake inspired Happy Birthday
before finishing with a new version of the beer song: 101 blo0dy subs for Davy Jones!

The Ohka is probably worth nothing in the game I fear (as it was in real life). IIRC you only get 9!!! per month and I bet if you get off a raid they will attack some AKs instead of high value targets...

Thought I got 1 Ohka for each Ohka carrying Betty bomber that sortied. No separate production line
for Ohkas!?

The Mutsu is repaired and is moving out of Shanghair. Planning to move the damamged Ise there, still 38 sys damage.
Hong Kong is a bit to close to enemy bases in Malaya and southern Borneo by now.

Air reinforcements is now down to 1 page, after august 45 there's really not much happening. The game lasts until
2/46, but I don't think Matrix has done any research into which unit would become available between 8/45 and 2/46.
Would have seen a lot of interesting ships and ac on both sides. An add on campaign would b great: Operation Olympic

PzB,

check your industry production sheet, there should be the production rate of the Okha. IIRC it´s 9

If that's correct it would explain Nemo's test... Guess I have to save them up for 4-5 months before launching a major strike then.
Kinda hopeless if I don't have a number of available Ohkas anywere!

Guess I have to train my Betties in the meanwhile, as I understand the Ohka pilot will have the same exp rating as its mother ac!?

I'm not too worried Medck! I ran a lot of supplies into Singapore several months ago.
Found that I didn't have the strength to defend all of Malaya and concentrated on Sing.

See the screenie I prepped at the end of the report!

Stepping out my recon raids against Oz, Kwajalein, Rabaul etc.
Looks like Andy is prepping for something. Not sure whether he's planning to continue his
offensive out of Malaya or change his axis of attack.

Sent a sub TF with 6 boats to PH with mines and a search plane.

A loss of 26K supplies in 4 months -- with only about a week of serious attacks on the ports/airfields. I'm guessing that means the troops themselves consume at a rate of about 6000 per month (200 per day). How much do the repairs cost? It would be interesting to see what the supply situation is like in a week or two to get a general projection on when supply might be exhausted. At this point, my guess would be 2 months tops (with bombing and fighting) which should enable you to fight at full-strength against any attacks by his Malaysian army for maybe 6 weeks?

The Zuikaku is finally down to 10 sys damage: the port got some 500 ship repair points now with 3 Naval HQs.
That SHOULD be enough to reduce damage with at least 1 point a day. I want a new pair of dice....

Just a few more days and we'll receive our last capital ship reinforcement of the war, a light cruiser.
It will join a sister ship and the newly repaired cruiser Naka and 4 destroyers and rejoin the fleet. Heavy cruiser
Chokai and 2 new destroyers will follow suit.

Action in the South China Sea

As you can see, lots of action today. No less than 10!! fully ladden tankers got away from Andy's strike, and
I'm not letting him get a second try. The 4 that caught fire will head for Camranh Bay and Brunei.

Singapore burned some 600 supplies in total today: If Andy continues at this pace it will take him 3-4 months to reduce
supplies to a red level. We'll be well into 45 by then...and I doubt Andy will hold his army back until then, they're all
suffering in a malaria zone.

600 supplieso ne day, 200 the next -- that second is a bit below the average consumption when there were no attacks!

I'm a little fuzzy on the supply model when you are the defender -- will you burn up the 6000 required supply a day if Andy attacks, or only if you chose an attack on his forces?

Think the supply levels will wary a bit, but an average of 600 pr day sounds reasonable.
If Singapore can hold on for 3 more months is doubtful, but if it doesn't it should be a supply issue.
Can always open an air supply bridge and bring in a few more thousand if necessary.

Checked the reserves of HI: 670062
So even if we run out of oil we can continue producing at full capacity for quite some time.
Must admit I don't know how many HI are required each day.

Yesterday I spotted a TF sailing past the Marianas. My smaller naval attack units
didn't attack and the TF was identified as AK/AP/CA. Was a bit sceptical and ordered
more naval bombers to Iwo Jima an Saipan.

Today the enemy TF turned out to be a carrier TF that stopped by the Bonins and hit
2 supply convoys there. Our planes at Iwo didn't attack - fortunately. Didn't have the
200 fighters required to get through a cv Uber CAP.

Of course Andy chose the optimal timing, can't remember having 5 TFs in the area for months.
Despite rain his cv's and their targets were all in the clear - ALL day long

Mostly disbandoning shipping and preparing naval bombers if Andy weers to close to a hornets
nest. I did actually sortie the KB, but they're returning to base. Nothing to be gained here.
The Zuikaku hasn't joined the fleet yet either, but she's down to 7 sys damage.

Hi,
good job on those nasty subs
If you want to know what to expect from the red juggernaut you can try the Manchuko scenario. Of course in the scenario there is no forts, no preparation, no a/c to speak of and most troops s***. Still a couple of 2500+ AP Mech Corps rolling up your rail lines is impressive.

My asw ships gain exp extremely slowly, would be lucky to find anyone with more than 56....
Not sure what they have to do, but fighting surface battles seems to be the only way to gain exp quickly - and that shouldn't
really count towards asw capabilities

I'm building lots of forts and preparing a lot of defensive positions in Manchuko, no doubts the Red Steam Roller will be
difficult to stop. Will be a welcome diversion from the Uber CAP though.....

Today I had a good laugh when the Uber CAP showed itself from its most extreme side:

Suicide Run

I've reserved this section for the Uber CAP
I'm starting to understand how Ron must feel everyday about most things in WitP now...

From Bangkok I gathered 100 Betties and 200 Oscars as the enemy transports and carriers that
hunted my tanker convoy had entered the port. From 7 hexes the bombers struck and I hoped that
the in port penalty would reduce the enemy CAP. The CAP wasn't extreme - 'only' 86 fighters.
They still shot down 120 of the 123 Oscars and 55 Betties

This would mean that each of the enemy fighters were perfectly positioned to first deal with all 120
fighters and then the bombers....averaging 2 kills pr Doodle fighter jock!

As I predicted some 20 Betties got through - but instead of attacking the enemy carriers they hit the transports
and scored 1 hit...... The planes were all expendable, but this just shows how impossible flawed the A2A model is.
I know we knew this, but still, can't do nothing but complain as this is HAS to be DEALT with - ASAP!

The enemy carriers moved just a few hexes to Bonin Isl. The island got 4 af and 250 AS, but
I prefered to protect Home Island bases and not risk a suicide run. It's impossible to launch
enough ac from size 4 bases to penetrate the enemy Uber CAP.

The results of the extreme a2a and CAP routines mean that enemy carriers can move almost
wherever they like as long as they stay > 6 hexes from any size >7 base.

The Ohka is probably worth nothing in the game I fear (as it was in real life). IIRC you only get 9!!! per month and I bet if you get off a raid they will attack some AKs instead of high value targets...

Yeah, you only get 9 per month. It is commonly thought that we should be getting 90 per month and that it is a typo.

Hmmmmmmm....If there are any Allied fan boys out there that feel that the Japs get too many advantages, they should
remember that 90% of the 'typos' favor them
