Ok, here it goes! My first WitP PBEM game against my old esteemed opponent Wobbly
It may be a little ambitious, I've not played more than 15-20 test turns against the AI before starting this scen 15 as Japan!
I have studied the game, it's manual - and not at least - all the excellent posts on the forums! This, plus previous UV experience gave me enough confidence to give it a try.

Learning as you go is one of my favorite approaches, but I'll undoubtedly make a lot of mistakes....
I'd appreciate if the readers post questions or try to answer the questions I post!
Wobbly talked about creating a seperate thread for his part of the AAR, but I'll leave that to him!

Greetings!

Glad to "see" you again, but in the WiTP forum...
I'm looking forward to read your AAR (same as in UV), and i like your approach to the PBEM playing. By that i mean that i already set similar plan for myself - I will read manual and just play couple of turns against AI and then start PBEM....

PS
I think that older version of your AAR was better, it was easier to follow battles from combatreport.exe, but this is my humble opinion...

Thx Pauk - rewriting the aar is somewhat time consuming, so I'll try a few different approaches.
Alot of non essential stuff in the combat.txt, so I may simply edit it a bit.

The simplest way is usually the best...!

Good luck with your games, hopefully you can avoid a few of my newbie mistakes by reading this aar

This time I will post the aar in a more sorted manner. The non interesting events have
been deleted (inconclusive attacks). The rest have been sorted under land, air and sea to
make it easier for the readers.

Situation Report

In all a good day - Alor Starr holds on, but otherwise the going is good.
2 Allied tf's were spotted north and south of Gili Gili - these are the 2 US carriers.
(As I guess yesterday - wobbly, the son of a cow - will join his cv's and sail north.)
Subs are moving into position.

170000 troops are now in place at Lingayen, and most of them will enter Clark Field tomorrow.
Another force is heading for Manila - divide and conquer, BANZAI!

The Imp Div joined the action at Alor Starr, and the Allied presence in Malaya should soon
be wiped out. Then I can concentrate of fortress Singapore. Extreme and continous bad weather
prevents any airstrikes.

Strong surface units are moving towards the Dutch bases. Wobbly is clearly trying to move
resources out of Palembang - and there are a lot of ships at anchor in Soerabaja.

More Nells and Betties will soon move west, but a bomber/fighter presence will be upheld
at Palau, Truk and Rabaul - that will keep my outer perimeter safe. Got a lot of shipping
going through the area.

The KB continues to search the shipping lanes, but are now heading towards more westernly.
shores.

AFTER ACTION REPORTS FOR 12/24/41

Land

Not a good day for land combat! Two deliberate attacks gets 3-1 odds, but fails
to capture Alor Starr and Cagayen. Will have to do it again tomorrow.
A counterattack at Nanning also suffers heavy casualties, and I have to be content
with bombardment attacks.

Seems like the rain makes the going though - raining all over the Pacific. Only clear spot
is on the US West Coast, and around the KB, cause Wobbly says he have spotted it several
times!

Does anyone else have problems with the follow command? Yesterday the troops at Lingayen
had followed a division towards Clark Field and had marched 30 odd miles. Today it was only 8??

Situation Report

Have to be patient while my troops slowly slug it out. Need more Zero's to upgrade
my Claude sqd's. The KB is ordered WSW. The Allied carrier(s) may be heading up
towards Timor - and if I manage to hurt them, I'll send the KB in pursuit.

A landing group and base force are heading towards Ambon - I want the airfields and put
more bombers on guard. It's also a must to destroy allied search planes and get rid of the
annoying Hudsons that land the occasional bomb hit.

In the meantime I'm thinking about my great Indian gamble! I'm almost convinced, I'll send
smaller units into the South Pacific, perhaps capture PM and start building forts.

There are a lot of ships unloading troops into Rangoon - and that's good! I'll cut it off and
land a mighty force that will crack open the gates and then land by sea, air and ground!

What does the rest of you say? India got more resources, industry and oil than the great
Nip Empire can make use of - The local sepos should be no match for the fierce warriors
of the Sun!

Situation Report

The weather should improve tomorrow - and heavy air units have been ordered
to attack Clark Field.

Wobbly says that the Lexington is down to 8 fighters - he may very well sail the ship
to Oz now to replenish the airgroups. I don't mind this, then I can concentrate my forces
on enemy bases and shipping.

The Chinese troops that marched into the base south of Nanning can't escape according to
wobbly - how convenient!

More troops spotted around Rangoon - and I'm in the process of hatching out a most evil
plan!-)

To be continued...........

Situation Report

The Dutch light cruiser Java takes a torpedo, but other attacks fails. The small carriers
are heading NW away from Ambonia in an attempt to cut of allied forces scuttling around
Borneo and Java.

A small invasion of Ambonia gets quite a lot of attention as I got heavy surface units
that I don't want to send to Java/Borneo without aircover. The initial landing force
turns out to be inadequate to capture the base, so heavy bombardment attacks takes
place until the South Seas attachment (Yes, the one that evil Kiwi almost sent to the bottom;)
and another NLF unit can be unloaded.

The Allied carriers have not been spotted, and are probably in some Oz base refitting their
airgroups. (A sub screen is still in place in the corridor between NG and Oz though)

The KB is heading west, and Wobbly is worried because he hasn't spotted them resently.
Perhaps I can wreck havoc on shipping around New Zealand, Fiji and Oz? Will depend on
how much I need em in other theaters.

Troops heading for Clark Field repells a counterattack, and in another day and two, 150000
troops will commence deliberate attacks. (Even my divisions march at different pace, making
it so hard to coordinate their advance.)

Cagayen and Brunei have been captured, and Dutch bombers are busy bombing the oil facilities
in the latter. Air ubits will soon be in place to prevent this. The forces defending Brunei had nowhere
to retreat to, and I thought they would surrender as I had captured the bases in the vicinity.
This was not the case though...annoying to have enemy troops marching around in the wilderness

Most of the Allied forces north of Singapore are not isolated at Georgetown and
Taipeng. Nells sank 2 msw's heading towards Georgetown? I'm suspecting an allied
evacuation attempt. 2 destroyers have been dispatched immediately, while
stronger forces are sent from Saigon.

Zero's and Betty's are now stationed in Tavoy, south of Rangoon. Hopefully I will
bag both allied ships and troops. Weather is again my enemy, nothing but heavy
rains and t-storms. (see map below)

Situation Report

The evacuation of Georgetown came to naught
Bombers and surface units hammered the happless convoy, and the surviving ships
retreated back to sea! A perfect coordinated attack were airstrikes sank the only escort, the light
cruiser Durban. Several transports were also hit, before 2 destroyers added to the carnage.

A lot of Buffalos' and Nates' were lost today, but the loss statistics say only 15 of each were write offs.
I have ordered a Zero sweep over Clark tomorrow - don't understand why they don't fly escort....(

Most of the troops at Lingayen will march into Clark Field tomorrow and start bombarding the place for
a week before starting deliberate attacks. A lot of arty and engineers are in place, so I hope to make short
process of the defenses.

Situation Report

The old year ends quite well for the Empire! Wobbly is quite active sending ships
all around the SRA. He pays for it dearely as most of my torpedo bombers takes to
the air!

Interesting situation around Georgetown as Kuala Lumpure is captured and 11000 Allied
troops surrender. It should be possible to capture most of the remaining troops in Malaya as well.
Surface forces will stand guard to prevent any attempt at evacuation.

Ambonia seems to be on the brink of capitulating, and I'm contemplating an invasion of southern
Borneo as soon as this is a fact. Today minelayers are mining the remaining Dutch bases there.

Tomorrow we will commit a New Years attack on Clark Field - an immediate attack has been ordered
in an attempt to 'blitz' the place.

In Changsa 150k IJA troops are resting and receiving reinforcements. The army will march south and
repel the Chinese from the railroad line sometime in January!

Since this turn was the last in 1941, I will post some statistics, maps etc. They can be found in seperate
threads.

Malaya is about to succumb completely - the only question is; How long can the remaining forces hold out, and can Wobbly save any of them?

I'm prepared to spend some time reducing the forts in the Phillippines, but I hope to capture entire Borneo
soon. Then we can slowly start the march down New Guinea and land on Java and the remaining Dutch bases.

In addition to the Intelligence report, the following numbers can be extracted;

Allied shipping losses (registered pr 1/1-42)
2 BB
1 BC
1 CL
1 CLAA
7 DD
1 AS
1 AVD
1 AV
2 ML
7 MSW
1 SS
1 AO
3 TK
25 AP/AK
8 PT

Japanese shipping losses

5 DD
1 AV
2 ML
2 MSW
8 SS !!!!
4 AP
2 PC
1 PG

IJN losses have been fairly low - except from the excessive submarine losses.
In addition there are 4-5 destroyers, 1 ca and 1 bb with sys damage between 16-85.

The most important Japanese ac losses can be broken down as follows;
25 Nells (11 op losses)
13 Bettys
16 Zeros (9 op losses)

These losses are sustainable - and I'm often taking bigger losses in ac transfers than
in actual combat.

7 Zero's are lost in air to air combat - 27 Nates have suffered the same fate!
22 Tomahawks, 31 Buffalos, 16 Warhawks, 4 Wildcats (+ 18 on Wake), 16 P-26 are the allied air to air losses.

I've taken control over the Japanese production system, and on the 1/1-42, the production of Nells (that had been halted since PH) was converted to the G4M1 and restarted.

The Ki-43 Oscar II is also beeing heavily researched together with A6M5s and A6M8s.
I have to get rid of the Nates asap!

There are ~750 different engine types in the pools - mostly Mitsubishi and Nakajima.
I'm trying to build a large pool that I can draw on when the going gets tough.

Production of Zero's, Val's and Kate's have been increased to 154, 69 and 64 - respectively.

I'm still using auto convoys - and even though I'm not happy with it, I will leave this to the AI until mid 42.
When the initial stages of the expansion of the empire has been completed - resistance will increase and I will
personally controll all the supply convoys and bring excessive resources back home to the motherland.

The KB is heading towards Oz and will try to stir a little fear into the area. After that it will go to the Indian ocean and
sweep the seas there. If this is successfull, the invasion of India will be executed as soon as the troops have been rested and prepared.

Situation Report

A good day, but it could have been even better! Too bad my ships didn't connect with the
British fast transport that picked up troops at Georgetown. I've not given up though - 3 fast
tf's will try to intercept the fleeing ships. Since several of them are damaged, they must either
sail on alone - or drag down the entire tf's speed. My torpedo bombers should still be in range tomorrow,
and the forecast is good.

The light carriers are in hot pursuit of a surface tf heading north along Java. I will risk a high speed dash
and try to bag a few cruisers. Wob has done a good job in preserving his surface units, and I want to do
something about that!

The troops marching on Manila should arrive in a few days, I hope that this will prevent the Clark Field
garrison from retreating down here. Then Manila will be overrun in no time!

Todays picture shows the massed attack on Clark Fields garrison!

Situation Report

Another good day for the Empire! More allied ships are torpedoed and both
Ambonia and Clark Field falls.

The armies are now marching on Manila! 200000 men will soon start reducing the forts.
In New Guinea troops are landing at Wewak and troopships are heading for Borneo.

3 task forces are now chasing the retreating British evacuation tf's. It's a very exciting race,
will I be able to catch the Glasgow and Enterprise before I run out of fuel?

The Mini KB also strikes gold when the notorious Houston is torpedoed. Clear weather tomorrow, and
the Nells are ordered to strike the Tiljatap port while the carriers lurks 5 hexes out. *Oh joy*

The real Mc Coy - the KB - has spotted a ship/convoy deep in the Pacific and will launch strikes tomorrow.
Only the US carriers can make life miserable for me now - so will Wobbly deploy them?

hi,
1. i know that you are busy, but could you post very short overview of auto convoys (i'm considering same options, found it s to hard to manage manualy with distribution of supplies...). for exmp: are you using few bases to stockpile supplies (example: For Southren Area Army and Burma AA - Saigon) and let distribution supplies by land, or you prefer smaller connvoys to many bases....

Hm, I've put 700 AK's and tankers into the transport pool together with escorts. Then I search for bases that got insufficient supplies, and includes them in the auto convoy system. This is very efficient, the only problem is that too much supplies and fuel are being shipped in. I will correct this later on when I got less to do though.

So, I guess I'm using many small convoys to many bases - but I do run manual convoys to bases close to the combat zones. These convoys are more heavily escorted and carries more supplies and fuel.

2. i haven't yet played WiTP, but together with my colleague, came to conclusion that India is maybe best target:
A) there are plenty of industry
B) it is not so far from your "liberated"(long live Emperor!) bases in Malaya
C) presence of KB may force your opponent to send his CV in the Bay of Bengal (your CV's with air support from the land bases = Allied CV's becoming fish shelters, hehe)
D). pressure on Burma - opportunity for sinking allied convys to the Burma

of course, it's not so easy - i havent checked yet british reinforcements in India, could be tricky....
secondly, depends how many units wobbly saved from malaya and withdraw to the India; how many units is stationed in Burma...
tips: check out luskan&raverdave AAR - they fight over the Burma, but it could be that long live Banana prepairing for the India (Raver don't read this!)...

These are just my toughts, but i will certantly try this strategy (to my opponents: you didn't read this!)

Yes, I agree! India seems ripe for picking. Only 2-3 UK full size divisions will be added to the Allied OOB during the first half of 1942. It's certainly not easy - distances are long and there are plenty of pit traps, but the more I think about it, the more I like it

I've not read the Banana aar lately, might go and take a look!

Nope, all Nate's upgrade to Oscar II's - according to current research, they will not be available until 1/43
I've increased research and hope to get them a few months earlier though. By 43 they will be outdated as well....

Thx for reading, always appreciate feedback and comments!
Hopefully more Kiwi spanking will be posted soon

Dang - seems like the Kiwi has gone AWOL!

I'm sitting in front of my puter around midnight on a Friday nite with the gf asleep on the couch - and there is no WitP turn
in the mail I'm getting yet another addiction, and those who can best satisfy my needs are at sleep....sniff!

Sabre vs Mig on Discovery, now that's something - perhaps I can rouse the cat on the coach afterwards as well

Situation Report

Another good turn as the Nells rips the bottom out of the Prince of Wales lying at anchor at Tjiljitap!
4 torps smashes into the hull and the light cruiser Boise is also taking water after a good hit.

I've ordered the light carriers to attack both port and naval targets while the big 28 ac Zero Daitai has
been ordered on LRCAP over Tjiljitap. The remaining fighters have been set on 90% CAP. All long range
Betties and Nells in range have been ordered to strike the port again as Wobbly disbanded his surface tf
there, and my aviators told me that a lot of Allied ships are at anchor!

In the Bay of Bengal (see map) my 3 tf's are now almost in range, and if Wobbly hasn't spotted the pursuers,
he may be in for a bad surprise.

A tank regiment has already moved into Manila, but will be joined by heavy forces tomorrow. Hopefully Wob
will not be able to kick me out...

There were a lot of air attacks today, and that should also be the case it the weather holds. Partly cloudy for
tomorrow. I'm going for a mid ocean intercept of the transports now at Palembang - my destroyer tf stopped 1
hex short today, and was spotted. So today I will move to the spot were Wob retreated to last time....

230000 troops at Changsa are ordered south and will clear up the railroad.
3 Sally Daitai's have been moved from Kwantung Army controll to Southern Area. 3 Dive bomber sqd's have been
moved in as replacements. The bombers will hit the Chinese bases before being transferred south.
(Dive bombers are useless against army formations, the ack ack guns slaughter them - but the medium bombers
fare much better.)

I noticed that the losses that were reported in the combat.txt were almost constantly twice as high as the actual losses.
Some examples

Actual Losses Reported losses Ratio
13 Nells 25 2-1
2 Betties 4 2-1
3 Zeros 7 ~2-1
4 Nates 7 ~2-1
1 Lily 2 2-1

3 Hawks 7 ~2-1
3 Hurricanes 6 2-1
2 P40s 5 ~2-1
3 Demons 6 ~2-1
6 Buffalos 10 ~2-1

Situaton Report

Somewhat of an anticlimax today! The LR CAP placed over Tiljitjap does not engage
the CAP that engages my bombers - and I pay for it! No less than 15 Nells and 6 Betties
are lost toda. Serious losses, but the units have so many reserve ac and pilots that their
fighting power will not be reduced.

There are a lot fewer hits on the ships in port today, and only bombs strikes te PoW!
Her superstructure is gutted and the Dutch Cruiser Tromp also receives a hit.

Once again I failed to sink the heavy ABDA units, but I have inflicted damage on the majority
of them - and Wobbly will find it difficult to mount effective counterstrikes.

The light carriers are very low on fuel and will meet the replenishment tankers tomorrow.
Then its time to go home and replenish fuel, ammo and airgroups. A 40% CAP is ordered with the
bombers set to naval attack only. Clody weather tomorrow.

My pursuit in the Bay of Bengal doesn't meet with the success I had hoped for. The damaged cruiser(s)
are lucky and my ships moves past on both sides. A single daylight engagement takes place, but only
the destroyer Jupiter is hit by a shell. There are a lot of air attacks on my ships, but I counted on the inefficiency
of the old torpedo crates against high speed and agile dd's and ca/cl's. One light cruiser is hit by a torpedo, but
damage isn't too bad - and she should make it back home.

I've ordered my ships to fan out and try to intercept one last time at night before heading back to base at full speed.
Should be possible to get the wounded cruiser - and if the evac tf still has troops aboard... Crossing my fingers.

200k troops have marched south of Changsa and will engage approx 80k Chinese on the railroad.
In Manila a desperate Allied counterattack is repulsed with heavy casualties. The end is in sight! A bombardment attack
has been ordered and in a few days all my armies should be in position.

Situation Report

I manage to sink the Enterprise, but now all the ships in the Bay of Bengal have
barely enough fuel to get back to a port in Malaya.

The light cv's have refueled and are heading back to Kendari. I've been around too long
and is anxious to get away.

Wob says the KB has been spotted, well hard to hide from all his eyes in the skies. Will
move towards Noumea before heading up to Truk.

Most of the troops have arrived in Manila - even though 2 divisions are still stuck in the
dirt roads to the south east. Have ordered a deliberate attack tomorrow to check the defenses.

The first attack in China meets with glorious success - almost 200k troops kicks Wobblys 50 k Chinese
defenders south, causing almost 5000 casualties. I'm now confident we can clear the railroad within
a month or two. Then I will try to capture a few resource and industry rich cities.

Sit map - China

Situation Report

A turn that made me smile
Manila has been captured and I now got 500 points more than Wobbly. 6600 vs 6100.
40000 troops have walked into captivity, and the Army is now marching on the last stronghold in the PI's.
The tide is rising!

The large light cruiser Boise foundered and sank at port at Tiljitjap and a score of transports were
hit and sunk.

My light carriers are racing towards Kendari and a much needed R&R. I don't know were the US carriers are, but I do know that they
docked on the Oz East Coast not long ago. As Wobbly has spotted the KB - he will NOT send them West. So they're either lurking in
the Coral Sea, are docked in Oz - or are heading towards the Indian Ocean!

I wish to use the light carriers as a scout force for the KB and make the Indian Ocean into a death trap for Allied shipping!

The Army in China is trying a deliberate attack on Hengchow - even though 130k enemy troops have been reported there.
(50k of these retreated yesterday, and shouldn't have much to contribute with!)
Not sure whether Wobbly wants to attack Canton or simply cut the railroad....well, that's why I'm attacking south anyway.

Situation Report

80000 troops have now marched to Singapore and will start bombarding the defenses. In a few days, all
my forces will be in place and start to reduce the forts.

The fall of Hengchow was undoubtedly the highlight today! My 166k troops simply steamrolled the Chinese
out and nothing now seems capable of stopping our march south to clear the railroad.

I just read something about China in 'Flashman and the Dragon' - if you havn't read the Flashman files and like
Blackadder humor, you should look em up asap!! Here's a little excerpt - he didn't hold too high opinions of the
Chinese obviously...but he didn't have high opinons about others than himself in general <G>

"I don't know who know who ran the first chest of opium into China, but he was a great man in his way.
It was a though some imaginary trader had put into the Forth with a cargo of Glenlivet to discover that
the Scots had never heard of whisky! There was a natural appetite, as you may say. And while the Chinks
had been puffing themselves half-witted long before the first foreign trader put his nose into the Pearl River,
there's no doubt that our own John Company had developed their taste for the drug, back in the earlies, and
before long they couldn't get enough of it.

So you see, the Mandarins resented white interlopers who bade fair to undermine their Empire with
poppy drug, and did their damndest to stop the trade, but couldn't. To their chagrin they discovered that
their God-given superiority, their highly-refined taste in eggshell pottery, and their limitless lines
of ancestors, availed nothing against any Dundee pirate with a pistol on his hip and a six pounder in his
bows who was determined to run opium in. Which made the Manchoo Mandarins wild with outraged pride,
and more high-handed towards foreigners than ever, with the result that war broke out in 1840. Being Chinese
and useless, they lost, and had to cede Hong Kong to us and open up Treaty Ports to European trade. And
the poppy-running went on as before...only more so!"

So you see, I'm really doing the Chinese a favor by kicking the white men out of China for them!

I've cut out an overview of my industry, and if some of you readers know how to control your resources a little
better than I do - and that doesn't take a lot - I'd appreaciate your comments about what you see here;

Situation Report

Experienced my second crash to desktop in a week. This time on my desktop, and
WitP has never crashed on it before. Seems to happen when I spend a lot of time on a turn,
going over all my units and moving ships, supplies etc.... Really annoying, I didn't have time
to redo it before going to bed - and worse, now I don't trust it anymore and have to save
every 15min!

The 'Mini KB' is almost out of fuel, but should just barely make it into Kendari - a close call!
The 'KB' is heading towards Noumea - enemy ships have been spotted heading east. I want to
spread a lot of fear before dissappearing again. I would have liked to stay hidden in the vast
Pacific somewhere between the US West Coast and Hawaii, but I'll be needing the carriers
in the Indian Ocean soon for my great Indian gamble!

Wobbly sent a huge cruiser tf past Gili Gili - me thinks he's after my undefended transports
moving troops up and down the east coast of New Guinea. Well, my Nells showed him what
might have happened to the Lexington and that she's a charmed ship indeed. The heavy
cruiser San Francisco takes 3 torps and I don't think she'll make it back. A RO sub has been
placed just sough of Gili Gili and will attempt to intercept and cripples heading to Port Moresby!

A deliberate attack has been ordered at Singapore tomorrow while a bombardment has been
called for at Bataan. I've overtaken the retreating chinese troops, and will give them another
pounding tomorrow.

Situation Report

Another anomaly as 3 msw's are sunk enroute to Manila from Hong Kong. They 'strayed' into
range of the guns at Bataan and were sunk! This is bull.... A course should be set that kep em out
of range!!!

Otherwise another good day for the Empire!
Singapore almost fell after a single attack, 5-1 odds even though there are still 5 fort lvls! 2500 Allied
causalties was also gratifying.

The Chinese at Nanning were finally ejected - south! Now they're in troube!

Preparing for the first deliberate attack at Bataan tomorrow.

Wobbly says that the San Francisco will make it - so we tried again today and put a fish into the
CL Helena that was reported heavily damaged.

The KB is now speeding towards the fleeing ships, perhaps I can hammer em!-)
The light carriers have refuelled and upgraded its last Claude Daitai. They're heading towards Borneo to
support the impending invasion.

Weahter will turn foul all over the Pacific tomorrow, so I don't expect too much aerial activity.

Situation Report

Well, Singapore fell easily enough and Malaya has now been 'liberated'!
I'm sending in msw's to clear the harbor, and troops ships are already picking up
support units that will help make Sing my main base in the west.

I will finish the invasion of Borneo before mopping up on Sumatra and Java.
My big division will have some R&R and prepare for their Indian adventre.

Bataan withstood the first deliberate attack, but the forts are falling and I got
more forces on their way. Anoter 2-3-4 days and I can start mopping up in the Philippines
as well.

Most of the Allied bombers in Borneo attacked my heavy covering force, but a small force
of Blenheims finally did something sensible and put a few bombs in a transport. The Allied air to sea
capabilities are so minimal that I mostly ignore them.

The only heroic allied action of the day took place when 2 Tomahawks shot down 6!! Nates....
I'm retiring those crates now - that's for sure. Almost got enough Zero's ready to cover my assets.

I'm also grabbing as many bases as possible in NG and elsewhere. Have to do it while Wob is weak - in just
6 months, things will start to change!

Situation Report

Tarakan fells easily enough and I got rid of some pesky Dutch bombers as well - but my boys at Bataan are having a rough time. I still got 2 divisions that are enroute from Manila, so I won't need more than a few days to finish it.

My next objectives can be seen on the sit map. Balikpapaan and the small island south of Singapore!

Notice how all the cvl escorts can't hit the Seawolf - to old PG's of Noumea sends another IJN sub straight to the bottom
Allied asw capabilities are already at a 1944 level! Needs some tweaking if you ask me, wasn't this bad in UV!

The KB was spotted NE of New Caledonia - and Wob knows I'm heading into the Coral Sea! I've ordered a port/naval attack against Noumea. Then we will sail towards Brisbane and shred everything that can be found there and northwards. Then we'll go home for some R&R before the Indian adventure.

Situation Report

The loss of the light cruiser Kinu was unfortunate, but the seas are crawling with Allied subs and Wob has placed them extremely well!
The KB sank 3 Kiwi PG vessels, but I spotted 2 subs underneath my keels - so I've ordered a course change!

Allied bombers at Borneo are again active, but only a PG is hit - and damage is moderate. I'm now loading up the South Seas Detachment
and is heading south. I want to be done with the aerial threat on Borneo. Heavy bombardment forces are ordered in and a surface group will
clear away the PT boats. Bombers from Kendari will hit the airfields as well and the light carriers will provide CAP.

Bataan is still holding out, my men are exhausted but another 2 divisions will arrive tomorrow. That makes me believe the base will fall in 2 days
as all the forts will be gone by then as well.

I'm also moving my HQ's and naval units to Singapore - my troops are content and fatigue is going down as they enjoy the nightlife in Sing
The situation in China is interesting! (See attached map) I've ordered an attack against Wuchow tomorrow, an industrial base that me wants badly.
If I capture the base early, I will cut of several Chinese corps that were ejected from Nanning. Then I will march towards the latter base with enough
troops to clear away the remaining opposition in the area. The main force will move back north to capture Kweilin. If successfull, I will launch one last
offensive against Homan and the base just north of it. I'm also using recon flight to see how many troops Wob got at Kumning and Yunan. If I can cut the
Burma road - a lot will have been achieved.

The latter objective is actually a double edged sword - as I want Wob to send reinforcement from India to Burma! When the sledgehammer falls, I want
as little initial resistance as possible. Again the use of my airborne regiments comes to mind....

Ah, don't I love all this scheming and plotting

better than I do - and that doesn't take a lot - I'd appreaciate your comments about what you see here;

I can't see if you get an answer about industry and resources... unforutnatly i can't help even, this numbers confused me very much...

Have you consider changing Hitachi engines for Nakajima, i think that you have enough H.engines (Ki-32 can be upgraded with Lily's, and IIRC Ki-32 is not currently produced). Also, be sure that Ki-36 is set to not recive replacments (2 air groups? - you can disband one), and you will have enough hitachi engines for transport ac (ki-54...)...

Think Wob's next turn went AWOL - so I'll concentrate on some of the production details instead!

Pauk, I must admit that I'm unsure about how many engines of each type I really need.
I'll send a few msg's to experienced players and ask for their advice.

In the meantime I will post more production details:

Currently the following ac are under production

Zero 174
Kate 80
Val 66
Dinah 62
Oscar 62
Somia 45
Nate 41
Lily 40
Betty 34
Jake 31
Helen 23
Pete 23
Sally 20
Hickory 15
Topsy 10
Tabby 5
Tina 5
Emily 5
Glen 4
Mavis 4

Altogether 749 ac are produced pr month.

The following ac are being researched:

Frank 14
A6M5 Zeke 12
Oscar II 11
Tojo 7
Jill 6
George 6
Tony 5
Frances 4
Irving 3
Jack 3
Nick 2
G4M2e Betty 2
Ki 46 III Dinah 1
Nick 1b 1
Myrt 1
Irving 1
Judy 1
G4M2 Betty 1

My immediate reaction is that I'm producing to many Lily's, Nate's and that more ac should be researched.

I'm attaching a picture that shows what ac that has been replaced thus far!
