It seems like no repairs are being done on my ships @ Pearl? Do you have to do anything special to get it moving, or is automatic?

It is automagic.. sometimes it just takes a while to get moving (and never really that fast - given the 1 day turns).

If you have a lot of ships damaged it takes more time as well (repair crews spread thinner).

How much base repair is being done alongside ship repair?

Remember that for max repair capability, you should have a Repair Yard (like PH or SF) and 4 ARs in it.

Then your damaged ships have to be either docked in a TF or disbanded in port.

Also keep in mind the ships durability and the number of ships around in line for repairs.

If the durability is higher than the daily repair allowance you have to wait till the points accumulate enough to help out. Also lots of smaller ships under repair in the same port will suck away points first, preventing the port from accumulating many spare points to help the bigger ships.

Monitor the progress over a longer period, and spread ships around to even out repairs - this is esp. important in India where you have one main repair yard (Columbo, 40) and a couple of smaller ones (Diamond Harbour, 20, Bombay, 20) - if you, say, want to fix up the POW put it in Columbo (and expand the port their, it helps to get it to size 9) and throw the rest of the ships at the smaller ports.
