hi there,

i am from germany and plan to buy witp, although the price is way to high imho but thats another story.

now, before paying over 75 euro!, i want to know if its possible to make a security copy of the game, when i download it?

i will only buy the game if its possible to make such a copy to have the game on CD when something happens to the PC.

otherwise, i have to let the game by side, because its a joke to pay 76 euro for a game without CD, manual, gamebox...AND to pay additional 10$ to get a CD from matrix!

i hope someone can answer this question.

bye

The file that you download over the net can be burned onto a CD like any other kind of file. I don't think that Matrix would have a problem with someone who does that.

I know thy do not. I downloaded the game at word where I have a fast connection and installed it at home. They use the serial number to enforce security. I was told by someone at Matrix that this was ok to do.

In the US at least, I believe it is always legal to backup any and all files on your computer. Whether that is to ZipDrive, tape, CD or punched-paper tape is up to the user. Something to that effect is usually included in the legal boilerplate of the EUA. Don't know if or how German or EU law would differ, but if nothing else it should be possible to read the EUA before you fork over any money.

(Disclaimer: This is all to the best of my knowledge and I am not a lawyer or involved in the practice of law in any way.)
