In small map scenarios according to the manual I should be able to send ships to an off-map base for repairs or refit. I've yet to see anyway to do this in any small map scenario, like in UV. I've tried every combination of things with a custom test scenario and still no luck. Could someone tell me how to set this up in the editor so I can see it work. Thanks a lot...

From post by Mr Frag
In small map scenarios where scoring is counted, ships can not be sent off map for repairs.

You can see which is which by loading the scenario with the Scenario Editor and seeing if Score Damage is set to yes.

When active,
The Return to... button shows active on the ship information screen when the ship has damage or is due for upgrading.
The ship needs to be in port of the Main Base for the scenario (usually the one generating supplies each turn)and not part of a TF.

Thanks that did the trick.
