Will WITP have a "virtual" war going on in europe where certain events happening there could have an effect in the Pacific. For example, if war in Europe goes very bad then more US effort would be directed over there giving Japan time to build up, or on the other hand if Japan does EXTREMELY well then more US effort would go to the pacific effecting the "virtual" European war and so on...

ForEx between June and December 1941 the UK sent to Russia over 800 first line aircraft (mostly Hurricanes), 600 tanks, 1400 vehicles and 120,000 tonnes of other supplies; more than enough to full equip the Malaya AG. Or in 1943 Hitler ordered the scrapping of all German surface ships. This occured at about the same time as the fall of Italy. The two combined would have allowed the full weight of the RN to be deployed to the Pacific theatre 2 years early (4 armoured deck carriers and 4 modern Battleships would have had a major effect in 43)

Any of you guys ever play a boardgame called Pearl Harbour by GDW? It had a table that you rolled against each year to see how the war in Europe was getting along. If it went better than historical for the allies then you got more units transferred out to the pacific. If it went better for the Germans you got the a Panzer Army driving through Afghanistan to attack India from the West! The game also had some cool features like allowing seperate players for the IJN and IJA and making the Emperor resolve conflicts. Players had to have a victory of the turn corresponding to the Emperor's birthday to stay in favour. The game also had the Soviets coming in the game depending on how things were going in Europe. I've still got my treasured copy of the game.
