What is the best way to destroy shore batteries before a landing. Airfield bombing, port bombing or something else? If it is bombing, do level bombers or dive bombers work better? Thanks for the help.

Port attack by lba and carrier planes. Also bombardment with heavy naval units BB and Ca's, until the next patch DD's will get creamed by CD if you send then in so you'll have to detatch them for the time being. Not shore if any of the escort missions will allow you to send DD's along for the ride with out getting creamed.

In my experience, if u try to destroy ''fort'' or ''fortress'' type CD units (like corregidor), they take quite a beating...

Indeed, it is advisable to stay the hell away for Singapore or Corregidor and the like in anything the floats until your troops are manning the guns!

You could always blow up the dam. Just don't end up on the wrong side of the river.
