The august/september issue (#12)of the french strategy gaming magazine "PC4War" contains a preview with two screenshots of "Tin Soldiers". While enthusiastic, "un projet vraiment original" ,"des parutions toutes plus extraordinaires les unes que les autres", the article is also somewhat sceptical, wondering if the project will ever see the light of day, given the birthpains of projects like "Combat Leader".

There is also a description of "Conquest of the Aegean", though without any images.

Cheers,

Do you really think it was so enthusiastic?
I think we are both fluent in French and based upon that I have read,it does not seem to me that this small article was so much enthusiatic;it has only presented this game as a really original one...
I remain sceptic...

Cher Pumba,

I quote :

"...Matrix continue à annoncer avec régularité des projets de parutions toutes plus extraordinaires les unes que les autres..."

(Matrix continues to regularly announce ever more extraordinary projects...)

"...Matrix a donc annoncé deux projets très intéressants..."

(Matrix has thus annouced two very interesting projects...)

"...Autre projet vraiment original..."

(Another truly original project...)

"...Normalement, Alexander devrait être le premier d'une série thématique sur l'Antiquité, et on peut s'en réjouir ! ..."

(Normally, Alexander should be the first of a thematic series on Antiquity, and we can thus rejoice !)

Sounds pretty enthusiastic to me !

The writers' only reservation was his implication that this game may only turn out to be so much vaporware...

Cheers,

Cher Arsaces,

It is just a question of interpretation between France and Quebec...

I have friends at Vivendi and Microsoft who say their games get canceled on a regular basis. An amazing number of game projects never see the light of day. I can imagine why the author is so skeptical.

I'm only oblige to agree with Pumba1968, enthusiastic is not the good translation.

by the way PC4war and Vae Victis ( The Wargame Magazine) have and will (I do have some info about future release) have positive review on many Matrix game.

Unfortunatly there are no many US or english other review.for exemple I'm so disappointed that there are nothing at all in The Wargamer and so few in Consimworld about last Matrix product like Bin and War in Pacific

Well, I suppose that you're right in so far that the writer does not actually say that he is "enthusiastic" - however it seems to me that "parutions extraordinaires" "projets très intéressants" "vraiment original" and "...on peut s'en réjouir" betray at least a certain quickening of the pulse...

Cheers,

Th epreview was somewhat enthusiastic, but you should know French people are somewhat skeptical !
Anyway there will be a full review of TS:Alexander in upcoming PC4War issue 14, don't worry
(Why I'm so adamant ? 'cause I'll write it ! )
Cheers.
