Combat Mission, the long awaited 3D tactical wargame is shipping. Most of you have been following the games progress and playing the demo. For those who are not familar with this revolutionary new concept in wargames a great deal of information and a playable demo are available at www.battlefront.com

I wonder if all the posts here will suddenly start to dry up? I don't have a juiced enough PC for CM, so I won't be playing CM anytime soon...

Why would this forum dry up? SPWAW allows for a great deal of flexibility in wargaming. Something CM can't do. I am currantly playing both and contribute to both forums. I don't see a conflict of interest at all.

The only conflict of interest is between my wargames and my 'regular' life... Tomo

My 0.2 Windo SPWAW has a long campaign that CM dosn't. And CM has Operations that SPWAW dosn't have. I'm interested in these Operations of CM so i'll probebly buy CM. The campaign play of SPWAW is something that IMO Matrix should work on to improve it because that is a feature that CM is missing. I will continue to play SPWAW because of the campaign and sentimental value. I'm still playing WIR (and that game is really old) and TAO, but they have that special quality that they share with the SP series and that is great gameplay. Hi Mark long time no see, how are you and Seth doing on the campaign notes? The patch is almost here and i feel the old campaign mania rearing its ugly head. HAHAHAHA What's up with all these men in white uniforms that keeps visits me. ------------------ Mvh Daniel E.

I've had a very bad/busy couple of weeks at work, and I had to move, blah, blah, excuses, etc. Anyway, I sent off a proposed unit tracking form to Mark this morning, and I'm waiting for comments. I haven't done anything on the battle tracking chart yet.

I'll be playing both and putting everything else on a shelf for the forseeable future. As I see it, both games compliment each other nicely. ------------------ "Cry havoc and release the poodles of war!!!"

Hi VAShooter: I think you have it right...The games complement themselves. My hope is that Matrix will develope a 3D board similar to Sudden Strike but use the CM method of Combat resolution..plot/plot/movie. That way we can have the scope of SP with some (not all) of the 3D that CM offers Hi Dice: Seth has done some great work and just yesterday I sent him some comments for him to consider...nag that I am...LOL

I've been working on the beta versions of both games for some months now. In fact, I have been involved with CM for nearly 15 months of testing and designing. But you'll see that when you get it You can play both. I do. I also test both. Of course, I'm not sure I'm married anymore, or if my family remembers who I am. The cat won't come to me, and my truck is gone from the driveway. Spiderwebs on the refrigerator..but you die-hards know whereof I speak Get both. Play both. They are both great games with a different approach to war. Wild Bill ------------------ In Arduis Fidelis Wild Bill Wilder Coordinator, Scenario Design Matrix Games
