Hi,

I have one AK ship which will not unload a C-47 group he loaded at that same base. Couple of turns back I was loading various TFs at SF, and I've loaded this airgroup but changed my mind and decided it will stay behind. I've separated this ship from the rest of the fleet and gave it unload troops/supply order. Now after a few turns it is still sitting there on the ship docked at SF.

I'm possitive I've checked that Do not unload was turned off (I waited for few turns before posting every time double checking this just to be sure). Is it maybe a problem I'm trying to unload at the same base where I've loaded it?

I didn't see something like this on the new patch list so if somebody is interested I have the save files for the past ten turns I can send you any of them.

It's a PBeM scenario 15 v1.21

Could be the air group isn't really there. Try disbanding the TF.

Is this the entire unit ? The parent portion (one with the real name) ? Or a fragment ?

I did just now, it said can't disband, and switched to unloading. Every turn I keep saying unload but when I get my turn back it just sits there waiting for the orders. I will try another location for unloading.

It is the entire unit, 17th TCS with 16 C-47s, 16 pilots and the commander all neatly loaded onto the ship.

What may be the cause, and it just occured to me, I have changed the HQ assignment from West coast to Southwest Pacific just prior to loading (i think it was on the same turn I've loaded it). Maybe West Coast loading restriction kicked in after the fact?

Edit:

When I click on the group onboard the ship it does say correctly, attached to SWPAC.

Another, maybe important info, when I loaded the group I've tried to load 16th - 18th TCS, so I formed a TF with three 7000 AKs. I didn't notice that two of those had spent all their ops points, so after I selected the AC groups only one, the 17th was loaded. So I've taken the two empty AKs out of the TF, and the remaining one was given the order to unload, thinking I will just reorder them all the next turn when the AKs with no op point would be recovered. Those two did recover but the last one is still strugling with the unload I wish I didn't take the other AK's out but IJN subs were reported nearby so I was too careful.

Try assigning the destination of the TF to the base you are at with the unload commands on and see what happens.

I know this sounds stupid but is the TF set to Do Not Unload ? Sounds like what happens when the overall TF is ordered not to unload.

Only other option is to set sail and then return quickly and try to unload.

No this was the first thing I've checked after the first turn it stayed onboard. I had misshaps with that option during this game, so I know that it can work out looking like a bug but it is not the case here. But there is something I've just noticed, the total load for the TF today is 0 of 7000, here is the pic:

Look up above and it shows a used capacity of 6 so there is something on board.

Did that on the second day, it didn't help

I'm currently at day four. How long did it take God to create Earth? Was it seven? We'll see what takes longer, unloding an airgroup or creating the planet very soon

I don't think there is a separate Unload Troops button. There are separate Loading procedures but just one button to Unload Cargo/Troops.

What is the size of the port you're unloading at? The smaller the port the longer it takes to unload or is it not unloading at all?

If you can check the attached screenshot (few posts above) you would see it is San Fran size 10 port, and the cargo beeing unloaded is 16 C-47 Dakotas. It should allways be over in one turn, the unloading of the airgroup, no matter the size (I think).

I will try to unload at another location, like suggested before, but it is a PBeM, so I have to wait for the opponent before issuing that order...

I save every time before ending my turn, and I keep last ten days, so I'm still waiting for someone from MG or Beta to send the file to if they think it could help. Especially interesting on the screenshot is the difference between total load of TF (0) and the load on the ship (6).

Disband the AK into the port. Should shake it loose.

had the same problem. You said, IIRC, that the air group is assigned to the SWPAC, and that does not include San Francisco. Click on the ship, then click on the load - it should show the Air Group. You will have to change the Assigned HQ to West Coast (and pay the political points) to offload in San Fran. Otherwise, you will have to steam the ship to Brisbane or another SWPAC base to offload the group.

The unit assignment to the HQ shouldn't matter. It should unload in one turn there at San Fran no matter what HQ it is assigned to. I would say contact Mr Frag on this one and see what he has to say.

I have had similiar problems whenever I tried to load an airgroup or other troops when my TF had ships that just replenished from port and had some or all of its OPS used up. It partially loads the unit (remainder of OPS) and then doesn't do anymore. Especially with airgroups as they are supposed to load immediately. Had to unload/disband TF and start again. TIP in 1.21 Never start to load TF until all ships finished replenish - wait till next turn. I think posted that this is fixed in 1.3.

It was a unit attached to West Coast HQ and stationed at SF that I've changed to SWPAC to be able to load and ship it down there. I made some mistakes loading the other squadrons that were meant to go in the same convoy so I tried to unload it back to SF and it failed. If what you are saying is correct it is good news because if it will unload at SWPAC attached base it will be what I actually had planed in the first place. I just wish I've checked your post prior to sending the ship to LA to try and unload there

I thought that SWPAC is not a limited HQ and that the unit attached to a HQ that isn't limited can go anywhere anytime. We will know in a few weeks if it will unload at some nice down-under port.

Actually, it was three air groups that I had oredered to load on three big AKs (one TF). I also usually check the ships op point situation prior to loading, but this time I failed to do that (I had to create a lot of smaller TFs to load multiple ground units all on that same turn) So, basically this air group ended up on the ship that had 0 op points spent (the whole unit loaded) while the other two were allready on 1000 op points so the remaining two air groups didn't load any planes. The rest is history explained above in this thread. I just hope that RevRick's advice will work.

Edit:

Thanks to all of you for your help! I love this game!!!
