STATE OF THE WAR-MONTH RESUME

South Pacific Front
-The japanese dive bombers based at Tarawa cause continuous problems in allied shipping lines between PH and Noumea. RADM Holmes conducts the 11/3 a surface group with battleship North Carolina, cruises Portland, Indianapolis and Northampton, light cruises Atlanta, Concord and St.Louis and destroyers Buchanan, Farenholt, Anderson and Mustin to bombard this atoll. The damage caused is very heavy, 7 planes are destroy, with more than a thounsand casualties and the airstrip was closed ten days.
-But the temporal retirement of Tarawa is not enough. The japanese form a surface group in Lunga with the cruises Aoba, Kinugasa and Kako and three destroyers and intercepts a allied convoy near Reef island the 11/25. The combat is very short and in the afternoon the allied lost four merchants and another two sinks by heavy flooding days after.

Central Pacific Front
-The japanese launch the invasion of Midway with a huge fleet that concentrate forces in Wake.
The operation, however, was a complete failure. The 11/15 the KB launch a heavy air raid against Midway with 86 DB, 93 LB escorted with 119 fighters. The allied CAP was 15 P39D and 36 P40E. In the dogfight the japanese lost 17 planes and the allies 38. Anyway, the airstrip was almost destroyed. The KB repeats the attack following day. This time only 6 allied planes respond to menace. The anphibious assault begins the 11/17. To evade heavy damage in previous operations, the japanese only use light ships and transports to expose against violent CD reaction. For this cause many AP's are sunk but only two DDs. The japanese disembark in the first wave the 22ª Ind.Bde, 87º Nav.Gd and 6º Sasebo SLF that launch a Shock attack with no success. The island is defended with the USA 111th RCT and some auxiliary units (around 23.000 troops) but is heavy fortified. The nipons lost 2.800 soldiers the first day.
The 11/21 the japanese launch the second wave to Midway with the 21ª Inf.Division. This afternoon the japanese have 22.000 troops in the beaches but no progress and a continous bombardement of the USA 152mm artillery. The losses was 300/400 by day.
The KB launch another attack the 11/22. The mission is try to break the defenders but the result is very limited. 207 casualies and 5 guns. This attacks continue the following days but the defenders do not withdraws a inch. The 11/27 the japanese situation is untenable and a evacuation is ordened. In a last sign of frustration, the 11/30 the japanese bombard the island with a surface group with battleships Nagato, Mutsu, Yamato and Ise, cruises Maya, Myoko, Suzuya and Naka and eight destroyers to cover the evacuation. The allied suffers 409 casualties and 32 planes are destroyed on land. The japanese only achieve embark the 21º division, the rest of battered forces, around 7.000 troops, surrenders. This is the worst japanese disaster to date and without allied carrier intervention.

Burma/India Front
-The japanese repair the Chandpur airstrip and two daitais of Ki-48 and another of zeros are based in. The situation in Dacca front is stable with ocasional japanese attacks with no progress and heavy casualties in both sides.
-The japanese 3rd carrier division are with all ships damaged and the auxiliary ships that travel between Rangoon and Chandpur do it without air cover. The losses in auxiliary ships are heavy.

Sorry, i can't do it. The problem is that in the japanese armament and vehicles screen, the number rate of the specific devices is ZERO, always ZERO (zero in all of them). However, the production is correct and periodicaly my units gets remplacements. I think is a game bug.

STATE OF THE WAR-MONTH RESUME

South Pacific Front
-The japanese continue the air attacks against Vanikolo shipping with great success. The DD Patterson was sunk the 5th and many AKs the following days. The Bettys sunk a couple of TKs the 8th in a true allied disaster try to fuel the base.
-The allies, however, continue ignore the japanese air superiority in the marshalls and send supply and fuel convoys to Noumea from Frisco. Many ships are sunk, torpedoed and bombed from planes based at Tarawa.
-The 22th the allies try to disembark a seabees unit in Reef Island but the force is traced from Lunga and attacked with energy the next day. Three transports are sunk. Fortunately, the troops are in land.
-A BG with B-24Ds is based in Cairns. The base have now three LB Groups with heavy planes that visite Port Moresby almost every day but with limited success and many losses.

Central Pacific Front
-Continue the repairs in PH on the CVs Yorktown and Wasp. Four CVE are also in the base, prepared to form the new Task Force 30 when the great carriers are repaired, maybe in february 43.

Burma/India Front
-With the escort of Soryu and Hiryu, after repairs in Rangoon, the japanese conducts two vital supply convoys to Chandpur and the offensive on land front in Dacca intensifies.
-The first assault is launched the 15th, with the cooperation of engineers and heavy artillery. The 26th the defenses are about to collapse with 148.000 japanese and only 82.000 allies (around 23.000 RAF units). The 30th Dacca is lost to allies that retire your battered troops to Calcutta. This disaster forces the allies units in Dimapur to withdrawn to Asansol at once and this city is also lost. The japanese forces are, however, out of supplies and must stop the offensive.

Submarine warfare
-The allies based around 30 subs in Darwin, with the mission of cut the DEI supplies to Japan. The hunting zones are Makassar Strait, North Borneo and Toboali island. Only two merchants are sunk in a month. The cost is very heavy, two subs.

Actually seems very unlikely a blitzkrieg offensive in India. My troops, although they are 2/1 respect the allies in zone, i have many problems with the supplies. My divisions have spent january in Dacca with orders to march to Calcutta. Meanwhile, the allies fortified Calcutta and Asansol.
In Aircraft production, i think the Irving and the J2M Jack may be are available next month. However, the research of the Ki-67 and the B6N progress with slowly rate.

STATE OF THE WAR-MONTH RESUME

South Pacific Front
-The air attacks against Port Moresby pay heavy casualties from allied level bombers. In consequence, from the 31th, the raids are night attacks. In those missions take part the LB-30 from the 7th BG and the B-17E from the 19th BG based at Cairns.

Central Pacific Front
-The japanese planes based at Tarawa continue the air attacks against allied shipping going to Noumea. Many AKs are sunk. With the CV Yorktown yet in repairs (upgrading systems), the Adm.Nimitz decide traslate the available carriers to Noumea anyway. In your way to South Pacific, this carrier group launch a devastating attack against Tarawa airstrip and facilities the 30th with 33 DB and 45 TB. Only 4 japanese planes are destroyed on field but also 262 casualties and heavy damage on runway. The allied planes operate from CVs Essex and Wasp.

Burma/India Front
-After the fall of Dimapur to japanese, the 38 and 55 infantry divisions pressing to Asansol but the allies success to stop the offensive. The 10th january the allies try to launch a counterstrike but the japanese stop them. The 23th january the 4th japanese infantry division arrives to Asansol front but this reforcement is insufficient and the offensive collapses.
-In the south, the 15th japanese Army march very slowly to Calcutta.
-In the air continue the hard fighting around Chandpur. The japanese traslate some daitais of Ki-49 and A6M3a to this base from Rangoon and Akyab and starts your attacks to Diamond Harbour and Calcutta. The allies receive day by day hundreds of new planes; some aircraft, like the Beaufighter Mk21, the Liberator VI and the Beaufighter VIC receive your baptismp of fire.

Submarine warfare
-The japanese lost 13 ships this month to submarine activity. 8 Tankers, 4 merchants and 1 PC. Between june 42 and dec 42 the number of ship losses was 15. This increasing activity was very worried to japanese.
