Tired of being pushed around, the Empire of Japan unleashes a sudden attack on Pearl Harbor catching the two pacific carriers Enterprise and Lexington in Pearl Harbor loading up on chewing gum. (Since we couldn't get homeplate to come up, we will simulate this by withdrawing both carriers to an undisclosed port for "repairs" The big E will be out until 3/7/42 and Lady Lex until 4/7/42)
Brigada plays Japan, I am the allies.

Settings are historic, all realism on. Allied sub setting off. Japanese sub setting secret, (only Brigada knows) and I don't remember what we did with the replacements, I think it is +/- 15 days.

House rules are No refueling anythin larger than PT or PT tender from any port <3 if TK or AO not present.

Stay tuned for the first AAR.

Para Espanol oprima el 2 (Now I shall do the subtitles)

Subtitles:

Japan's surprise attack smashed the BBs in Battleship row.
The Carriers were surprised in port (hypothethically) and have suffered an undisclosed amount of damage.

Here is a view of the damage in Battleship Row.

Scanty ship movements have been ordered due to command indecision in the first day of the war.
All subs have been scrambled though. (Sub flotilla commanders are somewhat smarter than other REMFs)

Day 2:
12/8/41
BBC Wold Service. Here is the news.
Japanese forces have landed at Wake, Guam, Khota Baru, Aparri, and Vigan. The massive Japanese sneak attack is well supported by naval and air power.

La Kido Butai parece empeñada en hundir hasta el último barco en Pearl Harbour. Espero que luego no eches de menos esos veteranos pilotos de DB y TB.

Kido Butai seems obstinate to sink every battleship in PH. I Hope the japanese player do not miss those veteran pilots in the future.

The Japanese onslaught continues unabated. The allies continue to stare, dumbstruck at what is going on. Mostly housekeeping duties, Nimitz replaces Kimmel. The president orders unrestricted submarine warfare against Japan, due to their indiscriminate attacks on merchant shipping in the Philippines. Wake continues to resist, however, due to the presence of KB and no allied carriers, it can not be reinforced at this time.
Adm Flketcher had taken command of the CV Saratoga, the only carrier available, and set off from San Diego to an undisclosed location.

Allied combat paralysis continues.
Allied airforces try to interfere with the japanese landings in the East Coast of Malaya, with as much success as a snowflake in Hell.
Meanwhile the Japanese continue to use overwhelming force against Clark. What for? Beats me.
CA Houston, that had enetered Manila Harbor is torpedoed twice by Kates from the Ryujo TF. Not good.
AAR if anybody is interested:

BBC world service. Here is the news:
Yesterday December 11th, Royal Navy force Z sortied from Singapore to intercept the Japanese landings at Kuantan in the Malaya peninsula. Under Rear Admirable Williams, the Prince of Wales, Repulse, 2 light cruisers and 5 destroyers intercepted a superior Japanese force under CL Sendai. Two Japanese destroyers were sunk, and the light cruiser together with several destroyers were heavily damaged, for a loss, on our side of the destroyers Tenedos and Stronhold. An additional destroyer suffered significant damage but, together with the remainder of force Z, returned to Singapore with no problems. Both Repulse and the P.O.W were hit several times by enemy fire, since they closed to only 2000 yards duiring the battle. Enemy fire however did not penetrate British armor, and damages were minimal.
In unrelated news, CA Houston was severely damaged in Manila harbor.
The RAF has repeatedly attacked enemy forces, with some success. A Swordfish and a Hudson scored hits on enemy troop transports.

BBC World Service. Here is the news:
Today, Japanese forces have landed in Kuantan, on the East Coast of Indonesia. They were supported by very heavy naval and air bombardments. RAF bombers attempted unsuccessfully to interfere with the landings. Also Singapore was bombed again, only this time it was the harbor that was hit.
Associated Press reports that the air attacks on Clark field continue unabated. Today the allied mechanics have managed to put up a good number of advanced fighters to oppose the Japanese control of the air. The results however were not too optimistic.
The president has said that the US will not be defeated and that the war will be carried out until Japan unconditionally surrenders.

In the philippines Aparri falls, but the allies manage to put up a credible defence of Clark. (Not too successfully)
