Ss snapper has its 3rd go at a crippled AK creeping south from Port moresby -sack that skipper tabpub!!

A number of ships are spotted south og Milne bay, in the coral sea.
bombing south of mandalaby

16 Alf attack the ships south -it must be a small convoy a bit of course -the AKs and msw are missed

Lunga is visited - 27 fortresses -2 are shot down by flak
then 31 attack - some damage -pin **** raids

7 wellington attack 2 tankers trying to get into rangoon -20 tonys treat them harshly

the alfs missed again

lots of damaged CLs and DDs now arrive in japan
A decision is made by high command - send substantial ship reinforcemants to Burma.
And we mean substantial!

I have only a SNLF here -but an opportunity to use the bombers now opens itself
i definately decide to deploy heavy fleet units -incuding carriers to the indian ocean - the orders are given

the Ak he has been trying to sink -is sunk by 1DD and 4 msw, cheeky sods

78 liberators attack , with b17s -GG, the rufes there are no good

15 b17 attack lunga -15 zero defend , and the bombers turn away

A long turn -housekeeping, changing ship pickets, re organising the CV fleet -it is on the move again

My mines hit 2 ships near vanikolo -the developing base south of lunga
16 betties conduct a night port atack on darwin -no hits
We hit a ss near palua
The B17s hit 2 MSW near PM
Milne bay is bashed, and so is Lunga

The "probe " in burma is growing, its 2 chinese divisions now.

In burma i have to react to his probe -tanks race to the hex

little else going on.
the changes to production are working -I stop all merchant ship production -and HI leaps up 1000 points!

Ok, this is not anywhere like the game PZB is playing, and Im soon to be steam rolled, but i am enjoying it immensly still, although the bloody results I am going to see soon fill me with dread.

A new and very large operation is building, the objective is to get the 53rd div to victoria point, as a reserve div
large surface forces are enroute

The action is hotting up in Burma
he bombs pagan- liberators and P28s tangle with tojos, i lose 17, he loses 10
I bomb the chinese, and 3 chinese divisions deliberate attack -my tank regiment arrives in the nick of time, and stops him cold
53rd div rounds the corner at singapore -it is heavily escorted .

In the DEI I am trying to get a fresh base force into Kupang
I struggle still with industry problems -at this rate the empire will totally run out of supply in 10 months!!!

3 naval operations are ordered -Im going to be striking at 3 different places in about 3 weeks time, trying to again disrupt his plans.

Air battles over the burma front -7 oscar vs 11 P38 and 18 liberators, i lose 2 oscars
I bomb the chinese again, no opposition

At Port moresby a very bad day( it will only get worse!

), 30 zero fight 64 P38 escorting the bombers -23 zero fall, this is bad.

kaga prepares to sail at last -repairing a point a day at the moment, if HI is plentiful, then ships repair!!

One of his SS attacks the yammato battle group -yes, she is well and truly at sea -fortunately she is not spotted.
A AK sunk mallacca straight
A SS hit in return

106 mitchell attack from Akyab -300 plus casos -ouch
20 sallies and 23 tojo try the chinese again -19 P40 tear the tojos to shreds, I lose 21

, and 6 sally, for 3 hurricanes that blundered into the fight
30 oscars, 32 tonies tangle with the same p40s, lost 7 oscar, 3 tonies, shot down 13 P40s -go figure.

he hits lautern hard -its intolerable this bombing here

the chinese try again -and fail badly, another tank regiment arrived.

Where will the main strike come?

Area1 Burma front

A ss sinks a empty AK in mallacca straight.
I simply do not have enough ASW assetts for the map -this area is very light on for PGs and MSWs

The Chinese attack is still growing -a artillery unit joins them today
The 53rd div is all but unloaded at Victoria point -freeing up forces for my Akyab flattening operation
Tomorrow we bomb the chinese again, and sweep again with tonies -I expect some opposition.
One off shoot of the chinese attack -Pagan is not getting bombed -and is fully repaired again
The units for the operation arrive in singapore -I await the fuel convoys -about 4 days , maybe 5
forces for operation Queen -2cvl, 3 cve, 4BB, 4 cl and about 12 destroyers.
Oscar2s finally finish filling out in singapore -they are a vital part of the plan -LRCAP

Area2

lautern is hit hard yet again, bulla grows to size 2
here too a operation is underway, 4cv,2cvl and hopefully kaga as well if i can get her there in time
here we are loading fuel from davao -my major reserve, and moving it to the front.

Another Op underway here -3 cv are moving south -to attack his forces- and to show the flag, then they will have to cover a convoy into port moresby -a tricky op.

A large enemy convoy arrives at akyab
The bombing missions against the chinese have no opposition -he might be capping the convoy
TF 177 -2cl and 4 dd head north. Mission : to engage the enmy PT boats, and to draw out any enemy major ships at akyab -and to disrupt the field
TF143-1cvl and 3cve also move north, trailing behind-providing LRCAP and cover
TF14-2BB,4dd move north under this cover
Several oscar units are put to LRCAP

In singapore -1cvland 3BBawait the arrival of the yammato and fuel convoy, they too will sail north soon
We now have 2 sally,2tojo,2tony,3oscar and 1 betty unit at the front, and 2 small Kate units, hardly massive air power -but it should be enough
Operation queen begins!

The weather is helping -although the CL TF is sighted today
No attacks launched against the ships -and the CL TF reaches launch position.
23tojo escort sallies to the chinese attack -15 hurricanes oppose
We lose 2 fighters each
Then tonies sweep, 1 tony, 4 hurricanes shot down
The attack against Akyab is ordered - i can see lots of ships in India sailing south!
And another very special, nasty operation is about to occur tomorrow as well.

The operation to flatten Akyab, and hopefully kill some LBA begins

CL Naka, CL Tama and 4 dd attack
3PT met - CL Tama wears the inevitable torp,2 pt sunk
3pt met - 1 sunk
3pt met -2 sunk
3 pt met -no hits

The naval bombardment hits 5 AK, 3 MSW, kills 60 men, 2 A/C, and disrupts the field slightly.

The nasty operation begins - troops begin unloading at TRIVADRUM India!
And this is no sub landing -over 1000 troops are landing, ready to die for the empire while causing havoc behind his lines
THE BASE IS UNOCCUPIED!!!

33 tony sweep burma -no opposition
Tonies and sallies attack -1 hurricane defends
Then the big surprise -he has a CV north of Akyab!!
4 wildcats and 8 swordfish attack the retreating CL tama, they meet25 oscars and 17 zeros
Only 2 swordfish attack -they miss

Then akyab launches 38 mitchells and 8 beufort -they meet the oscars and zeros
The mitchells fail moral, 9 shot down, and 3 beu as well

A B17 on naval search hits the tama
31 B17 attack -my CVE group and the BBs
60 zeros on CAP
7 b17 shot down, 3 zeros lost, BB Kirishima is hit twice -500lbs bombs -bounce
better yet -the nature of my CV???? force is hidden

I wreck the burma airforce today as well laid plans go very badly.

6 enemy DDs hit and sink the 3 APs at trivandrum
The BBs do not go in, I miss calculated the range.

So Akyab did not get bombed -and is ready and waiting
69 tony,28 oscar, 59 tojo and 47 sallies attack -34 spits and 29 hurricanes oppose

18 oscar, 30 tojo,10 tony and 6 sally lost!
23 hurricane, 21 spitfires shot down, only 12 hits, and only 5A/C lost on the ground
CL tama does her job, massive strike sinks her
His CV has hidden at chandpur

We capture trivandrum
I need to totally rebuild the airforce, but probably will not get the time to do so.
The fleet retires, to regather, refuel, and await the next thunderstorm pulse.

5 of my DDs sink a AK at tenibar -and get away
6 B17 hit a AK at Bulla
The CVs are near kendari

Area3
the enmy has lots of ships at Vanikolo

This is very bad -and breaks a lot of planes

only 20 odd fighters rise up

Carnage
rangoon is closed for at least a week

I must abandon the area .

Can i recover the airfoce here in burma
I am frantically gathering the fllet at vic point to refuel -the fuel arrives at last tomorrow. CVL Zuiho is hit by a dud torp -and the yammato is spotted, the fleet is discovered.
Adaman island is heavily mined by the enemy -msws are on the way
The enemy attacks east of pagan -3 chinese units, a art , and a new tank regiment
My reinforcements also arrive -but not eneogh, the enemy deliberates, gets 4 to 1, I am driven south to Taung gyi
So operation leviathan begins!!

troops at trivandrum are about to be attacked, others are on roads and rail -causing disruption.

KB is refuelling, and kaga is close to joining

Lea is hammered again, 20 zeros not enough Cap, and losses are heavy on the grond
hard choice -stand and fight, or run away.
We fight!
i must commit - a division is loaded for Buna -and lea is to get more troops as well
massive ship concentration at Vanikolo -i risk it -Akagi,hiyo and junyo will attack!!

Elsewhere its all very quiet, lots of new air reinforcements are arriving -they have a lot of training to do.

Industry is still very poor.

Overall tabpub i think will be pleasantly surprised at how quick he will gain superiority -I simply do not have the capacity, or pools to replace losses at all.
Thats what comes from having buggar all oil or industry.

The big problem today is the shattered air groups in rangoon -how to evacuate them and the pilots -can the AKs pick up the damaged planes -or only fixed ones????

The way i think about it, it will be an avalanche -maybe I should let it fall on a vacuum.

On the barges -phew -a moment of severe concern there!
i order
TF14 -Hiei, Kirishima,6dd to bombard Akyab -oscars LRCAP from moulimien
TF Kongo, haranua,mushia,yammato,chikuma and 6 dd to bombard -they wont arrive until the turn after -the CVEs will provide some LRCAP
and 1 cl and 4 dd will lead the way in

Pagan is hit again and again

19 zero CAP over the main battle fleet fail to stop the enmy strike of 58 P40, 18 mitchells, and the dreaded 15 beuforts
6 zeros are spalshed, 2 bues go down

The mitchells cannot hit a barn -but yammato wears a torp -and haranua wears 2
yammato - 28/1/18, haranua 27/28/29

I order the attack to continue!

lautern hit again -and we are training

Area3
The enemy continues to invest Ndindi, 4000 troops -a Kiwi brigade and 3 seabee units
tabpub sure likes to nibble away
Lae is recieving troops, the fast transport run to PM is going OK -will do another shortly.
many submarines arriving at patrol area, and mines continue to be swept near Gilli, gilli

1 tanker, 2 ak sunk by ss today

Area5
the enmy is building in the north, and gradually my squadrons begin training all over china.

The solomons are as ready as i can make them, same with the DEI -literally little else i can cover.
Burma is my nightmare
i have 50 plus sallies and their pilots stuck at rangoon -I am desperate to get them out -so operation queen continues, even if all it does is gives the port repairing a chance -i am very close!

a nice day of action -terribly expensive for me though.

DD okikaze strikes a mine at akyab
BB mushia and kongo, with chikuma and 7 dds sweep into the port
4pt met - jap surprise - 2 pt sunk
3AK surprised -all 3 sunk
4PT surprised -2 sunk
2pt surprised -1 sunk
2pt get surprise on jap - 1 pt sunk -2 DDs torpedoed

Hiei and Kirishima, 4 DD sweep into Akyab
1pt met and sunk
1 pt met and sunk

naval bombardment - only 3 planes destroyed

naval bombardment- only 7 planes destroyed - a lot of hits -but the fields are still open, and too few planes destroyed.

1cl and 4 dd also bombard -1 lousy hit.
about 1500 casos inflicted all up

The AM air phase sees Akyab clouded in
4Es attack rangoon -sink a single AK
The 3 damaged DDs are then attacked from india by wellingtons and the like -and all 3 are sunk

I order the fleet to retire

PM phase -akyab is open

29 zero and 24 oscar fly CAP -45 p40, 16 beufort, 47 mitchell attack the mushia
2 zeros, 8 oscar lost - 7 beu and 13 p40 shot down -and no hits!!

And at rangoon I am abl to load the sallies -can I get them away in the AK?, or will I lose the lot to a sub or planes tomorrow??

i still cannot believe tabpub has not come at me yet!!

shortlands -april/may?

i am hopeful that rabual wont be lost until mid 43
I want wewak still viable by mid 43.

So the solomons are OK

If he invades Timor -i will make this last a month -with luck
So march before kendari is threatened
These are the objectives

some troop reinforcements in 59 days time.

Disaster!!!!

The enemy has gone on a weeks holiday - same as my other enemy - I HAVE NO OPPONENT FOR A WEEK

I will die of WITP starvation!

pagan is night bombed
10 cats night attack the kirishima -miss

Kirishima is hit by duds from a sub - phew!
Then a ML by duds - double phew

he bombs pagan

Then the retaliation begins
3 beuforts/15 oscars over rangoon - miss a AP
2 beuforts/15tony,15 oscars over rangoon - both bombers shot down
An AK is attacked -but not the sally carrying ship -beuforts hit her

Area1
The fleet streams south, Yamato and haranua are out of the war for a year i would say, the AK with the sallies is still at sea, please make it!

Area2
No action today

Area3
ASW actions near Milne bay - CA kako dodges a torp
Troops unloading at Buna
The command at Truk asks for an immediate issue of supplies -will need far more than available when the fighting starts.

Industry is still a mess
