22/11/43 OK, Ive been away for a week re charging the batteries and serving the nation in a small way, very satisfying Its now late in 43, and overall I really can not complain Although the last few months seem to have been just a very passive defence, with laittle inititive from my side, I am very pleased with how much empire I actually hold still. The biggest factor is the lack of oil and resources -where most japanese players seem to have loads of planes and supplies even at this stage, I actually am very , very close to historical levels, and my pools are very, very low on many planes. All this comes from capturing most oil and resources trashed. So I have to be passive -I can only fight for the really, really important stuff, and so far I have not considered any thing that vital to wipe my self out over. NO ships are being produced -so each one is extremely precious The situation is changing, TABPUB is finally on the move, now I must just slow him down for 3-6 months before the 1st great fight -the fight for Siapan is undertaken I need 3 months now, as KB is totally knackered -system damage is very high on nearly every ship in the fleet. KB, and the fleet is still intact, and this is the key, as long as it threatens, Tabpub must advance base by base. The fronts Home Islands Oil is just 600000 tons, and just 16 tankers remain! I have low supplies, and factory production is "spotty" -. The biggest worry, -a CV raid on the home islands! China Right along the entire front -the railroad, we are contesting all the cities basically -I am fully committed, pinned and slowly, slowly being picked apart. Total allied air supremecy, and he is using air power in china slowly destroying all the resource centres in that theatre. Its grim -and I feel that this is actually where the death blow will fall. Vietnam After an excursion that took hanoi -a very unwelcome loss -I have I think enough forces here -but these forces really need to be elsewhere! Burma OK. Stalemate at Tavoy Same at rahaeg Plenty of forces up and down the coast all the way to Vic point and even further BUT -he is bombing everything at will -and I am powerless to stop him. bangkok in particular is now a crater naval forces are non existant here at the moment too. I can just hang on grimly -and hope Singapore is a training base, bombing the island just south, dread to think what will happen when that goes. DEI After the massive effort at darwin, I hope that this area is safe for some time. I trai from soerabaya, have some forces at Kendari, Timor. He has flattened Ambonia and Sorong -and I can tell you -that was 20% of my oil! PNG The invasion of Lae is coming -a fleet is sighted Lae has 2 Divisions, but litle up the coast after it PM is cut off -still well supplied, but a lot of troops. They are marching to Buna -might catch him in the rear by surprise, any thing is worth a try now. I have a fair bit of air committed here -at madang and the other bases in the area -will just try to keep him "honest" Solomons Munda is gone, shortlands soon He is very slow to slog up the chain, and seems to insist on wiping out every base before moving to the next -bypass does not seem to be his policy -I detect a desire to "take it all" Marshalls/gilberts Are gone -yet the "take it all" is revealed by jaluit - he is about to invade a small, totally bypassed base . Ponape is the next target I feel -it is starting to be bombed every day Central Ace in the hole The Siapan islands are a fortress, as are the Paluas The phillipines also are very well developed. With the fleet in being -I hope to inflict literally "the decisive battle" here. I have too -I only have fuel at the moment for one big fleet operation left anyway So, the war continues, today some air battles over Lae -I sink 3 MSW clearing mines there with some Lillies at 100 feet. Tomorrow the action begins , I hope I can hurt him some how!
