if I turn on and watch the combat animation, it is way too slow
but if I turn it off and go cooking, only go back check the combat summary at the end of each turn, I missed a lot of valuable information

so the question is, can these combat details be saved somewhere(maybe txt file) for analysis?

I agree (again). I want to just hit "execute turn" and have the computer run (while I go remind myself to eat or to say 'hi' to my wife) then come back in 20 minutes and read reports.

I know that I have been told "it is an important part of grokking the game to stare at the screen without blinking" but that is just silly.

I don't want to run the delays so slow as to be able to take notes (because to take notes so much I do _not_ need to write down will also happen with a similar delay). And I don't have a perfect enough memory to watch the screen for 10-15 minutes remembering everything that flashes by to write down later.

I have actually tried doing a digital video of the screen, so I can review it frame by frame at my leisure, but I can't record in sufficient resolution to read the fonts.

Why oh why are we expected to sit here staring at numbers words flashing past? This is supposed to be a simulation of ability to command troops, not a simulation of an Evelyn Wood Speed Reading Course.

I think that this is a good request. That additional combat information should show in Combat Report..at least in single play.

Cheers,

M.S.

I'm all for it. It's not hard to have the "Adjusted Assault Strengths" displayed in the combat report. I hate having to sit thru the whole thing, waiting to see...

Assault odds, 1 - 1.
Japanese assualt strenght 586, adjustested to 325.
Allied assault strenght 234, adjusted to 310.

I'd wager that many players don't even realize that their assault strengths are being adjusted in the first place.

THAT is what I want to see.

Punt!

I'd like this too. I can have the delay set to 0.1 for everything but ground combat because I need to see the adjusted odds.

Similarly, only annoying and not as important as the combat details.. I hate that the messages regarding the arrival of reinforcements aren't included in the op report. I have to go look up the original OOB to find out what came in where if I happen to not be looking when it shows it.

(just once I'd like to not have to edit for grammar or some other crap a spell checker doesn't find)
