why a draw????

been playing against the AI in the guadacanal scenario... my score 5355, AI 4923.. so why is that a draw?? Am I that bad a gamer?? I know that I am just a Canuck with no military experience,, but still,, I had more points...... Ps,, figured out that its best to play scenearios first, to get the hang of it.. the whole campaign is quite monstrous!!

Yes, the whole enchilada's a bear. Look around, though, for someone likely to play with. PBEM is the only way to get at WitP's best stuff.

Also, have an acre of land,, mostly forrest and wil be out gardening soon.. and my witp time will soon drop to 10 hours a week from the 24 I`m averageing now.. thanks. george

I love to garden. Have fun out there. (Veggies? Flowers? Both?)

there should be an "introduction to WitP" for women to explain why men get this way( the WitP lifestyle)

How would we get them to read it?

So play a PBEM. You "can" only play once your partner had done the turn and replied to you and will only do one or 2 turns a day, so will probably never reach the 10 hours a week. I play 15 hours a week and I'm playing 3 PBEM and I still have a social life.

Game is so much better in PBEM and the "slow" pace is not a problem. You will probably spend more time thinking to plans or reading this forum for ideas/advices than really gaming and will improve faster.

Playing a human by mail is really more interesting because :
1) you never know what he will do
2) you never know when the turn will return. May be nerve-crasking if you took huge risks sometimes. I guess some of us spend most of the day wondering where enemy CVs can be...

Because a marginal victory requires 1.25x your opponent's score. You needed slightly more than 6000 points to win.

As it happens, I'm playing this scenario as Japan in a PBEM. Which side did you play, and which bases did you have by scenario end? So far the Allied player is kicking my butt, but I'm still ahead on points...

As for PBEM, I'm finding it's not quite as time-consuming as I expected. If you take the plunge, start with only one PBEM. Once you've got three, it can sometimes get daunting: you come home from work with 3 turns to do, and you forget what you were doing in each game, and you get overwhelmed. :)

Switch to PBEM you will actually spend less time with the game if you choose a one turn a day opponent.

Lots of days not much happens and you can do the whole turn in an hour or less. Then you can think out your strategy while sitting next to your wife in front of the TV and pretending to be interested in the latest movie on Lifetime.
