As you work on Stun2 I would like to suggest a simple change. Instead the menu "Aid pirate in {Race name} systems", why not change it to Issue letters of marque in {Race name} systems". The reason for this is that it fits better with history. All sea going [or space going] powers have sent priveteers on commerce raiding missions throughout history. I know Andrew is a student of navel history and I think he will like the fit. It would fit well the game concept and if you had a little coding time you also could. 1. Make your priveteers identifyable to you so you do not kill them unless you wish to. 2. Perhaps you yearly, get a percent of the profits back for the fee you pay to issue the letters. After all, you are equipping the priveteers. 3. You get the grim satifaction of doing in the priveteers that are plauging you or your allies. This of course does not mean that plenty of ships will still hoist the jolly rodger and go free booting by themselves, and you will still need to fend them off your freighter routes. I just think it will add a layer of detail to the game.
