AFTER ACTION REPORTS FOR 11/02/42 So, if this is the fate i'm going to face, i must be ready for the inevitable and fight as best as i can. The new strategy: The key wil be from now on to mantain the controll of the SRA and DEI and so the keep the flow of oil and resources towards Homeland as long as i can. The main threat to the japanese dominions in the SRA and DEI is rapresented by the allied overwhelming air power in Burma. I'll have to do everything i can to stop him there. Better to lose territories and miles in the central pacific than in Burma. The more those 4E bombers advances the more undefendable become my bases. But how to stop a possible new offensive in Burma coming from the North? and how to stop a possible landing at port Blair and at the same time keep Java and Exmouth safe? If these questions have an answer...i do not know it. He has something like 400 4Es bombers in Eastern India, 400 more at Alice and probably 200/300 more between Cairns and Cooktown.....how can i face this force? Anyway, i wrote these lines just before seeing the last turn. He landed another US full Division at Tongarapu....where i have a Sasebo SNFL...my brave guys held the first assault but tomorrow they'll be gone. He's so going for Centpac...at least for now. Next stop will surely be Pago Pago. Nothing i can do to stop him now. But my plan was clear...those places are not vitally important, so i don't care much. The problem now is that my inner perimeter is threatened in one more point...Tarawa area. The base will be fortified. I'll fight for it. In China the first bombardment run at Chungking went pretty bad. 165 enemy killed...with 4500 Artillery Guns...incredible I'll keep on bombardin every day, from air and from land for one week. Then i'll attack...no expectations anyhow. What else to say? Oh yes...2 b-17s shot down over chungking by 9 A6M3s These planes seem to do a better job than the Tojos...it's quite strange indeed. Daily heavily bombed again. Engeneers arriving with an HQ from Darwin.
