Alright this is ticking me off. Is this just a bug? It's happening in my current game....Everytime I do a naval bombardment of an enemy island it says some friendly planes have been destroyed, I just did a naval bombardment and it said "10 Avengers destroyed, 1 Dauntless destroyed, 2 Hellcats destroyed" What? I don't think I even have Dauntlesses in that hex. Even if I do that's a very stupid outcome, my naval bombardment kills friendly planes? And carrier planes? I could MAYBE understand it if I had planes on that islands airfield, but naval bombardment destroying carrier planes? I must have a drunk captain.

What is happening is you actually do have friendly aircraft there due to another bug.

As far as 16" shells being smart enough to choose their target when they go boom, not too likely ... the explosive shock wave is a fairly big area effect, planes are not as strong as you think.

So it is happening because of a bug, should I wait till 1.5 to continue the game? Also when is 1.5 coming out?

One more thing, if it is being caused by 16" shells that's a pretty damn big shockwave as my carriers and planes are 60+ miles away hehe

Nope, it's a rather minor annoyance really. It's a couple of fragments that happen to get misplaced.

Back to this....It's really ridiculous. I did another naval bombardment and this time it destroyed land based P-38's....my closest P-38 squadron is no less than 500 miles away.
